Newbs99
Hey guys, as you can see I moved my build from the kit reviews to here. Thanks for looking! All right, so here's my '62 impala build. I'm still touching up the paint, but I like we're it's going. Here's a pic of the body and the motor so far. Wait till you see the headers. The area where the cylinder heads would be is orange, not red. Thanks , Newbs99
slusher
Real nice start..
Monty
Ummm, what's up with the black intake manifold?
PappyD340
NICE!!
Guest
Intake should be orange, and you missed sanding the mold lines by the c pillares. Are you going to clear it? What colors did you use? May I suggest better lighting for pics as well. Nice start otherwise. Like the 2 tone.
Newbs99
I'm gonna leave the manifold black for color assortment, and I'm not gonna clear the body because I want the white to be flat, instead of glossy and the blue testers is shiny enough for me. I keep updated. Thanks, Newbs99
Newbs99
Hey Guys, Sorry it has been so long. Just applied my first decals. Never done it before. I know that sounds shocking, but I've just always worked my way around them. It feels as if I have opened a new page to modeling. Thanks, and expect more too come soon. The camera didn't focus too well, but they are there. Edited December 17, 2013 by Newbs99
slusher
Very nice work. Nothing wrong with your pictures..
Newbs99
Sorry it's been so long and I couldn't get a single picture of the motor alone. Anyway, here is where I am in this build. Here is the bottom of the chassis with the exhaust and my first attempt at rust.(Let me know if you want to know how I did it) The engine And the seats ( just primer and the stripes are decals) Also have the interior and rear axle done With this model I am going to keep the whole interior simple. Anyway, thanks for hanging with me. -Newbs99
Newbs99
Also, do any of ya'll think that I should paint the gas tank red or just leave it the flat black. Thanks of any input, -Newbs99
MeatMan
Nice work. Some folks like the contrasted frame vs. components but I like the single color (other than the exhaust and suspension components as you have).
Newbs99
So, I've gotten most of the interior completed along with finishing the chassis. Here is where I am... What really got me was how much the interior door panels lean in to fit with the dash and rear seat. Anyway, I should wrap it up today. -Newbs99
slusher
Real nice progress. I would paint the brake, clutch and gas pedal black. I myself paint my gas tanks silver or leave them black. nice work...
OldTimer50707
That is looking really great.
Dragfreak
Nice job, but it appears you have the shifter sideways, should be facing foreword. Edited December 25, 2013 by Dragfreak
Newbs99
I thought the same thing Dragfreak, but I then realize that it sticks up under the dash away form the seat. So I turned it back toward the seat. Anyway, expect more soon. -Newbs99
Newbs99
Hey guys, So since all I've done lately is take pictures and work, I'm going to just throw all of my pictures on here up till the end of the build. Thanks and expect more projects soon. And yes, midnightprowler, I did end up clearing the body after I had had it on the chassis to somewhat ensure that the decals would remain for now. Without further to do...the most pictures you've ever seen together...my build.. The box will be its final resting place and I'll post one last picture of it wrapped tonight. Anyway, this is the end of this build. Thanks for tagging along;) -Newbs99 Edited December 27, 2013 by Newbs99

Newbs99
Thanks Slusher and those wheels came in the box as the uprades over the stock ones, so that's even better because I didn't have to pay more for Pegasus. -Newbs99 Edited December 27, 2013 by Newbs99
