MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Since WEC & IMSA adopted the GT3 specs to supersede the GTE/GT LM rules, the Vette is racing in GTWC, IMSA, and everything else. It's a full-on Customer Racing platform now, not something being confined to "Factory" Works teams the way the prior iterations of the Corvette had been...still I get the indication that Revell doesn't have any interest in making a racing version of it. I'm not sure how well the prior Corvette racing kits have sold, or the Ford GT, but a lot of it would come down to how bad GM wants to see it get done, and the C8.GT3 actually doing something special during the seasons. Maybe if it dominated GT3 LM this summer...
  2. Last time I asked about that, back when the C8.R was still a thing, I was told point blank - No. Presuming the same still goes for the C8.GT3 that's the global racing platform now.
  3. Two different beds, scuttlebutt is there will be more than one release of the wrecker with different year cabs.
  4. When you say "NNL Show in Ohio", do you mean the one in Toledo? Because the answer to that would be never. The last NNL in Toledo took place in 2019.
  5. NuNu is back with a test shot of their upcoming BMW M4 GT3 after showing rapid prototypes the past two shows. Also showing parts for the long promised 2018 911RSR GTE kit which should finally be released this summer.
  6. Hasegawa also has their updated (or in this case backdated) 1966 Isuzu Bellett on display. Slew of new body & interior pieces for sliding the 1969 kit back 3 years.
  7. Aoshima once again has their new line of 180SX kits on display. Billed as a 1996 Type X the black one will be the "Option Wheel" version which is sporting a set of wheels from an R33 GT-R. Gimmicks in the kit include the open/closed headlights and normal/low-down ride heights.
  8. *RHD Yeah I think Aoshima is really missing the boat there, aside from an optional wheel kit, and a series of decal revised offerings from the manga SF Ghost, there's nothing that makes their kit any different that the Tamiya kit that's been around for almost 2 years now. Unless it's coming later not doing an Export Version is a hot pile of disappointment considering the first gen 86 was so export specific there was a Europe specific 86GT and North America specific Scion in the box.
  9. Well I mean there's a 1/20 AND 1/28 version of the S10, what more could one want? Actually they can do a new S12 too while there at so those nearly as old Aoshima & Fujimi tools can be buried in the doldrums of motorized history.
  10. The parts being shown at the show are the same ones shown in the earlier thread posted here. They did not include the entire kit.
  11. My NNL East show haul. Alright so no one was selling the Miku Z4, but I picked it up from a friend who shared a co-order, so I say it counts. Stuff in the left column I purchased to replace old original 90s Monogram releases I had sold off. They were pretty musty and dusty after all of those years and I yearned for fresh decals.
  12. Yes the C8 Vettes are being built RHD from the factory for the first time. No more expensive after-delivery in-country conversions. GM sold 300 RHD Vettes in Japan in less than 3 days when it was announced the cars would be RHD straight off the boat. For the kit since the C8 is mid-engined and the "frunk" is molded shut creating a RHD set up is a dashboard, center console, pedals, and scuttle panel/wipers. The way the car/kit are with a flat chassis aero plate you don't get/see the parts of the front suspension that would different (aka mirrored steering column/box).
  13. Most recent box from the Links of Hobbies in Japan Also got talked into this Alpha Models kit because I got a bit of a discount. Who could say no? 🤣
  14. Next two months or so was what was intimated at NNL East.
