impcon
All I can say is.......... I don't know what to say except that your workmanship is beyond any edifying and uplifting words that I can think of! The feelings of accomplishment and achievment for you must be incredibly intense! I for one, cannot begin to imagine the time and the love that you put into that model.. I have a hard time grasping that it is all scratch built! I'd sure like to see that in person and shake your hand! COngratulations on a job .. the words "well done" just are not sufficient.. AWE INSPIRING!!!!!!!!!!!
crazyjim
I still think fire trucks should be red - but what detail you have - UNREAL!! Fantastic!! What scale is it?

miatamadman
Thanks guys for the compliments! I love the challenge of creating these rigs from scratch. From the research to the final pictures, it's all for fun and yes, stress relief. These trucks are basically a bunch of little models assembled into one big one. Ben, I keep using those old AMT rims since I just got accustomed to using them and, while not accurate, they look pretty good to me. For my next build, I'm think I'm going to be using the wheels and tires from the Trumpeter Alf. I just need to get anothe set of rear wheels and tires. So if anyone happens to have a set gathering dust..............
Ben
Zoli, I will give you a set of my wheels if you'll use them on one of your builds! You could make some very unique looking rigs. Do you like the rigs that have the painted two hole budds with the chrome lug nut covers and center caps? I make those wheels. They would just need to be chromed and painted. I noticed that a lot of the bigger hazmat rigs and tiller tractors are using the high float five hole on the front. I make that wheel and theres a wider version of the Trumpeter ALF tire out there that fits it perfectly. What are you doing with all the kits that your getting the wheels from??????? http://images9.fotki.com/v450/photos/3/1602553/8554796/25thtenholes3-vi.jpg http://images20.fotki.com/v533/photos/3/1602553/8554796/Chrometwohole-vi.jpg Edited May 24, 2010 by Ben
