Reliable Resin
I build alot from my resin & I do not build if I don't have this CA glue by GREAT PLANES Thick glue & prefer that over all the other ( GreatPlanes.com ) *do not use the THIN ..or "Super Glue" cause you'll wind up gluing ur fingers to the part... dought! Another great thing about "CA" Thick glue , is filler , drop some CA glue on an area & sprinkle some Baking Soda over it ... see what happens & almost forgot... don't use CA glue on / for clear plastic windows , ever Build ON ! Steven Zimmerman
I use super glue on my resin, and I build a lot of it. I probably go through 1 or 2 tubes a week, and have been using it for about 20 years. It has its positive and negative points;its easy to use, dries fast, can be 'instant' with accelerator, sands easily, and doesn't react to paint. Yes,it can be messy, and it sticks to your skin instantly(that's what it was developed for) clogs the applicator if you're not careful. It's cheap, and available EVERYWHERE. I use both the gel and the'runny stuff' but I like the thin stuff the best, because of its capillary properties, and i've even used it as body filler. I've tried every brand available in this area-they're all about the same. My wife won't go near the stuff, but she collects ceramic hummingbird figurines(several hundred);we have cats, suffice it to say the stuff works very well when repairing these(about once a month ....for years....)........'Z'

exakto
Hey guys, Just a quick question. What should I use for resin.I really do not like superglue. Epoxy?? and which one?? I got some small diorama pieces that I need it for. Thanks in advance, George ya. Ive built several Modelhaus resin kits. two part epoxy sucks to work with, but is the best Ive found to hold everything together. superglue works well in some cases, like, putting head lights in or a grill. dont forget to soak all the parts (exept chrome) in a de-greaser 2 days prior of all prep work. imatt88
I've used super glue (both types) for years and I don't build without it. I've used 5 minute epoxy, but only when I have a tough fix. You can used super glue on clear parts, BUT!...only after its been dipped in Future Floor Polish before hand and allowed to dry. Otherwise it will fog the plastic, as mentioned before. As far as cleaning resin parts, I use that spray stuff that you use to clean whitewall tires. Blechley's bleach white, or something like that. It's what I use to clean resin cockpits prior to painting Warm water and soap work good, too. Cheers, Ian
