NHRA715
I haven't really built a model cars since the early 50s when I was a kid. I had it in my mind for the past 10 years to once again build model cars and I had purchased a few model kits along the way. I wanted to build cars that I had owned in the past and cars that I had admired that were really cool. I've been fortunate enough to have had a lot of really cool cars in my lifetime and building models of these cars I feel will be a way of connecting with my past. A few weeks ago I started building a 1964 Dodge 330 sedan with the 426 wedge motor. Although I had built quite a few cars when I was a kid I was still a little rusty on painting. So like anything else I looked online to get some tips on painting model cars. I did see a lot of valuable information and YouTube videos and then I ran across this website which really blew my mind. The day I found the website I had looked on the form under on the workbench and saw a thread by a guy that was building his own hemi motor out of blocks of aluminum. I could not believe the detail that he was putting into this model. It was definitely beyond amazing. After following his thread I started reading some of the other posts and I was equally impressed by the majority of the people sharing their building experiences on the site. I look forward to learning how to build more realistic models from what I see and read on this form. Thank you all for sharing. Sincerely, John

oldnslow
Welcome John, Looks like you started a little before me, the first model I remember was a 59 Plymouth, it met a violent end out in the back yard along with a bunch of plastic army men. We practiced on them with our BB guns. You'll find a fantastic wealth of knowledge in these pages, I'm continually amazed at the ingenuity, skill and imagination found here.
