lou s
first funny car build of this era. don't know much about these cars so it will be a learning build.i may need some advice from the experts on this forum.this is a mock up and its not to impressive...........nothing looks right to me starting with front and rear tires.ill go with micro nitro rims but does anyone know what aftermarket front and rear tires I need and an aftermarket engine if there are any out there in 1/24 scale. Daddyfink
Well, considering that the kit is in 1/25th, I would suggest the rear tires from a modern top fuel dragster or the wide MPC slicks from the early 70's that can be found in numerous drag and show cars. The rims are actually pretty accurate for the period. As for the engine, you can swap out any 1/25 scale hemi and dress it up with the kit supplied parts. The HEMI in these kits is a bit too narrow. gtx6970
IMO, one of the best things one can do for the Revell kits is lower the rear of the chassis . There is a tutorial somewhere ,,just can't remember where it's posted I've got one of these in the stash to do ,,,,,,,,,someday
lou s
I see what your talking about with the kit hemi being narrow.what about the top fuel hemi? I also checked the top fuel tires they look a lot better.comp resins has a pro stock tire crt 511.it has the same dementions as the tf tire except its not as tall.are the kit front tires good? does ross Gibson or mark johnsonhave a better engine? AZ Boy
Lou, get with 1320wayne regarding the lowering of the chassis & body. He's the one who made a tutorial on how to do it. Another choice for rear tires might be the Comp Resins wrinkle walls. I used them once, and I kinda liked them. Oh...And I did use Wayne's technique on this build too.
