1:4 1931 Mercedes SSKL

Recommended Posts

I did a little digging and it turns out the builder, Wolfgang Dell, is a professional custom knifemaker and engraver. His website shows his facilities and his knives (if you don't speak German, you won't learn a whole lot here). Couldn't find any info on model cars.

Click on the little British flag icon at the upper right and you get the English version.

One would wonder if you are going to go through all that work to build something 1:4 scale, how much more work would it have really been to make it 1:1? Awesome work though.

Check these out. Custom made one-of-a-kind scale model pedal cars, 1:2.5. Built in 1997 by a father and son in Duisburg, Germany. Only factory made pieces are the headlights, wheels and tires.

Bist du ein Berliner? (like JFK was)...

As a humorous aside, in German, the article (ein) isn't used in the context of which city you're from. JFK should have said, "Ich bin Berliner!" If I recall, ein Berliner is some sort of pastry. Of course, the Germans knew what JFK meant, and not that he considered himself a jelly roll!

That's exactly what I was thinking.....it's almost as much work to make everything out of brass in FULL scale, and it is in 1/4.....even easier for the nuts and bolts!!!

But he didn't want to build a "real" car... he wanted to build a scale replica. ;)

Ich bin kein Gebäck! Ich bin ein Mann! Ein Mann sagt ich Ihnen!!!!

So...worldlingo.com says you said this:

I am not a pastry! I am a man! A man says I to you!!!!

But if you were a pastry, what kind would you be?
