Who says a 1 and a half year old cant build models?
08 October 2012 - 03:41 AM
So as I build my models, my son ALWAYS manges to get into my builds. Now, I have him just messing with some of my spare pieces to have him away from my important builds and at the same time he feels he doing models with me. Its a pretty cool sight.
Wouldn't be a model without its challenges...ugh

So I recently bought Revell's Enzo Ferrari with the urge to get out of my muscle car fix and do a super car. I take it out and start sanding the little bits off from the tree and when I go to check how the hatch fits on the body it wants to pop up. Here we go again. Its ok though because this one will be box stock and I can give my brain a rest from going to insanely custom. However I feel that this one will be a sanding monster. I'm still trying not to spend 50 bucks on a tamiya kit unless its Christmas or something.
Is there anything for model car clubs in or near jacksonvile, nc?

Hey all just wondering if anyone was in the area and knew of model clubs nearby?
67 Comet stoplight to stoplight car.

This is what is going to be a street/strip car. Something that someone would drive stoplight to stoplight. Nothing fancy. Keeping it able to modify on the weekends to hide what might have happened that the cops are looking for from the weekend

the car with hood scoops sanded off and gaps filled along with the side emblems shaved off and the motor.

the other side badge shaved

back side of the motor

the seats with mold lines and excess sanded and shaved off along with the other pieces.

what will be the grill...
Thank you for looking. more pictures to come soon.

Perfectionist?

I was talking to my wife last night after sanding mold lines and she asks "why are you sanding?". I tell her the whole reason why and as I'm telling her this I think to myself, dang for people who may be perfectionists like myself, this has to be the most bitter sweet hobby ever considering that you WILL spend hours on something so minute like mold lines and take another day working on primer and not even get to some other part of a model. It makes me happy though knowing that my build will come out very nice opposed to looking like it was put together cutting corners. I don't know, just wondering what y'alls take on this was...
