1965 BISCAYNE WAGON.

09 June 2013 - 05:40 PM

My latest build will be a 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne wagon. I'm waiting on the body from the Modelhaus. This car will be a replica of the cars the Butler County Sheriff had in 1965. This will be the second one I have built, as I done one for my Father a few years back to replicate his first patrol unit. Running for Sheriff in 1964 , James Hixon won the election on a promise to provide ambulance service to the unincorporated area's of the county, hence the use for wagons. This practice went on till the very early 70's. This build is a compliment car to the Monaco I just finished. It's more or less a visual history of the sheriff's dept.

I'm just beginning to assemble part's , but the engine is almost complete. Just need's a few more paint detail's to wrap it up. Thanks for looking, and hope some of you follow along. Dave.

396 BB Chevy. The actual patrol cars were equipped with this very engine. Since these photo's were took, I have added brackets for the AC and the alternator.

1977 Sheriff's car..

07 June 2013 - 02:34 AM

Here are the completed photo's of my Dodge Monaco. Built as a gift for a Deputy here in the County I live in. 1977 was his first year with the Sheriff's Dept. The items in the background will go into a shadow box I plan to make in the near future. Thanks for looking, Dave.

1977 Dodge Monaco Sheriff's car.

03 June 2013 - 11:53 AM

This WIP is my current build. It's for a friend of my dad's, who is a Deputy here in Butler county, Ohio.  He had seen the 65 Biscane wagon I built for my dad, (his first Patrol car) and asked my dad if I could do one for him. Of coarse I said YES. My dad's friend started road patrol way back in 77. He drove a Dodge St. Regis. Well since that car was never kitted, resin cast, or diecast I had to settle for the next best thing, The Monaco from the Dukes line up. The car will wear correct county plates, with number 77, and correct door decals with the ' then ' sheriff's name on it, just as it would have been in 1977.  I also will build the 65 wagon , also with proper door stars and matching unit number for 1965. Waiting on the body to arrive from the Modelhaus to star that one. Thanks for looking , Dave.

Been searching for...

29 May 2013 - 07:15 AM

I've been looking almost all day today for a 78 Pontiac Catalina . Anyone know if one has ever been cast ?  I'd even settle for a diecast in 1/25 1/24 scale. I've never seen one, but if anyone has, please let me know. Thanks, Dave.

Pete 377 A/E Fire truck....WIP..

16 May 2013 - 07:20 PM

Started on this one last week. I began with an Italeri 377 Peterbilt kit, and will bash it with a Trumpeter ALF kit.  I took the sleeper from the AMT wrecker kit, cut and chopped it up to make a crew seating area for 3 firefighters.  The frame was stretched 2 inches to allow room for a walk way for the crew. Steps will be made later once I get the fuel tanks on , and get further along. Wheels are from the Pete kit, Tires are from the ALF kit. Just a rough mock up for now, but it looks as if everything will fit.  Thanks for looking, Dave.
