Pete 377 A/E Fire truck....WIP..

16 May 2013 - 07:20 PM

Started on this one last week. I began with an Italeri 377 Peterbilt kit, and will bash it with a Trumpeter ALF kit.  I took the sleeper from the AMT wrecker kit, cut and chopped it up to make a crew seating area for 3 firefighters.  The frame was stretched 2 inches to allow room for a walk way for the crew. Steps will be made later once I get the fuel tanks on , and get further along. Wheels are from the Pete kit, Tires are from the ALF kit. Just a rough mock up for now, but it looks as if everything will fit.  Thanks for looking, Dave.

Here is the ONE and ONLY rusted out model I have ever did. Building fire related models, It's hard NOT to want to make them all shiny, but this was my attempt.

A few more older builds..

12 May 2013 - 06:18 PM

Here is a 1941 Chevy fire truck I built. The body on this one is all scratch built. I won my 3rd first place with this truck in '08, then gave it away to someone who had eye balled it all day.

Some older fire truck builds...

12 May 2013 - 05:30 PM

Here are a few of my older builds, that I'm not sure I posted on here. If I did my apologies for double posting.

1965 APPROVED rescue truck. Modeled after the rig from the Reading Pa. Fire Dept.

1950 CHEVROLET Fire truck. A basic kit bash between a pick up and the AMT ALF body. I did some body work, molding the roof line into the pumper body, and adding lights into the roof.

Next, a 1961 Chevy. Also stared life as a pick up, mated to the ALF body, that was split down the middle, sanded down 1/4 inch, then put back together so it would match up to the pick up cab width. Front fender flares made from Bondo, roof light's molded into body work as well.
