Catalina Street Machine

25 February 2013 - 10:40 AM

AMT '62 Catalina built pretty much out of the box except for the wheels, tires, and brakes which are from a Revell '32 Ford. This is a pretty well engineered kit which went together well. I had a little trouble with the final assembly but eventually it all went together. If accuracy is important to you, the paint detailing could be a bit of work. I tried to do the tri-color interior but didn't like the results. I did it over and settled for a two-tone which was good enough for me.
Thanks for looking, KB

Travelling with models

07 January 2013 - 11:20 AM

I would like to attend the GSL show later this spring but if I do I will have to fly there, as I suspect, most of the participants do.  Can anyone with experience in this area offer some words of wisdom regarding transporting models through airports, etc.?  I can figure out how to pack the models but is it better to carry on or check in as baggage?  I can see pros and cons to both ways.  Thanks in advance, KB.

Question about Revell Thunderbolt models

20 December 2012 - 11:03 AM

I recently noticed that of the Ford Thunderbolt models offered by Revell, some seem to be reissues of a Model King kit.  Can anyone tell me if these Revell-Model King Thunderbolts are essentially the same as the Revell Thunderbolts (such as the Tasca or Russ Davis Ford versions) or are they a completely different kit?

Thanks in advance, KB.

New issue of MCM

I received the latest issue of Model Cars Magazine a couple of days ago and it seems this mag just keeps on getting better and better.  Great work guys and keep 'em coming! KB

Hurst Hemi Dart

17 September 2012 - 07:59 AM

Not meant to be an exact replica but rather simply inspired by Mickey Weise's Hurst Hemi '68 Dart.  In 1972 this car ran with a color scheme similar to this before it was painted the more familiar red with white side panels.  Thanks for looking, KB
