Looks fantastic. Love the color. Hope I can get my paint job to look that good when the time comes

Thanks. Actually using both types of paint. Hands are getting better just relearning how to brace one hand while doing the tiny detail work.
-
Thanks. Seeing as how this is the first kit I've built in over 20 years not too bad. Been waiting for a gbody cutlass kit for years now and when I found out they were finally available I had to get at least one. Prob get another one of these for the 84 H/O. Got the first primer coat on the body.

Never mind. Took the time (pita) to mask the exterior of the car off to spray the interior headliner etc. Turned out great.

I like it! Also nice to see the photo etched grills. Was hesitant about how they would look on a model but seeing them now makes me want to buy 2 or 3 of them.

Looks great. I love the detail work on the engine and undercarriage -
OK, need help. One of 2 things I can do. 1. How do you mask off the car to paint the interior headliner without getting the paint on the outside, or 2. How do you get paint from a spraycan ready to paint with a brush?

Haha I know right? Eh it works great and was only 38 bucks at harbor frieght

And finally, the engine compartment getting there. The passenger side tank is the radiator overflow, the drivers side is windshield washer fluid tank. The firewall item is windshield wiper motor, and the silver thing by the windshield fluid that's painted silver is actually the cruise contol motor, which had a black cable running from the drivers side fender motor to the engine. So it's silver. And this was 83 only for the hurst olds. 84 had a servo on the engine itself. And of course the a/c is the silver tank back passengers side firewall

got more of the interior done. Man my hands even with the lighted mag are shaky. Getting better. Once dry I will take some burgundy and clean up the lines along the door pulls and dash.

The 83/84 H/O's all had argent silver in the lug well area of the rims with a chrome center cap with black center. The 85-87 442's had a gold center lug well area with gold stripe around the outer part of the rim.
-
The bucket seats (except 87 442) all had chrome seat hinge covers, and a chrome trim around the plastic back.
-
Ok some more updates... First, something most who never owned a real H/O or 85-86 442 (87 442's were different only on the seat hinges where they weren't chrome), was that all the performance olds had a chrome air cleaner lid. The body was black.
-
The red (burgundy) interior on this one came out a bit too dark on this one. Claret interior is a bit lighter on the H/O's compared to the oxblood (burgundy) interiors of the 85-87 442's. Oh well. I will try to dry brush the seats etc with a lighter shade to tone the shininess down a touch and lighten it up.

Thanks all. Yeah, I ordered the hood and euro front end and a few other parts already. I plan on doing this one, then a couple more. I would like to do one of each year, 83 H/O, 84 H/O, 85 White 442, 86 Black 442 and 87 Burgundy 442.

Ok as promised, here we go. Went and bought some sem burgundy interior paint. Also picked up this light/magnifier.
-
OK, so Clearly Scale has the resin parts back in stock for the 83 H/O so ordered my parts. Hopefully have some progress in the next few days. Too cold here now to do any painting for the exterior or the interior. Need to get a paint booth set up in my basement.
