  5. thank you guys, I grew up going to local track and still do. I love racing, any type of racing. i have a few others in the works too. A 66 Galaxie and a 58 Impala. What I'd love to do is make a scale racetrack or these. I have a lot of race car trailers. It's take a lot of space though.
  6. I went to 3 hobby lobby stores on Saturday. The first I bought the following 1 Porsche 914 1 Mazda rx-7 2 Dodge 330 1 64 thunderbolt 1 gran tofino 19 can of spray 2 paint marker replacement tips 2 make your own paint marker Second store I got nothing (No clearance). The third store I got 1 rx-7 and 2 cans of paint. I did the math and if everything was retail I would have spent $367. Everything being clearance I only spent $91. Those amounts are pretax. Paint was $1.25-1.50 each. Could pass it up. I only buy what I plan to build.
  7. These are a couple I have finished. First is a 57 chevy. It's on a 70 buick gsx chassis with home made rollcage. Revving red with hand painted strip to simulate the belair molding. Slixx decals. I used clear plastic to fill in the headlight and rear fin section. Also used window screen for the grille area. Second is a 68-72 nova. I bought this with the body painted already. I only had the interior tub and bare frame with it. I used parts from my salvage yard to finish it I used some nascar rollcage and made some too. I found a random chevy motor and put it in. The front and rear suspension is modified g body monte carlo parts. Front and rear bumper are from a truck, cut in half and shortened. Window screen for the grille. Added a good scoop and rear spoiler. Also filled in the rear body panel using clear plastic packaging.
  8. First is Fireball Robert's 61 Pontiac. Champaign gold and black. Powerslide decals. Second is Tim Richmonds early 80s ride. Revving red. Not sure on decals. They faught me the whole way. Third is Dale Earnhardts 98 allstar car. I made this from the 50th anniversary gold plated kit. Looks awesome.
  9. The is the Tamiya Ferrari F40. I used Italian red (it's a Ferrari) no clear. It turned out beautifully. The rear hood dont fit right but that's ok.
  10. Does anyone make the Nite edition decals for the 90's ford F-150 trucks? loved those when i was a kid and wanna build one. picture for reference. In researching this have found this blue to purple and also a purple to pink. Anything would do for me.

  13. I'm using the Joe Weatherly kit to build Fireball Robert's car. I read somewhere that the car had a light blue dash, possibly even metallic. Can any one confirm this? I hate to have the interior completely black.
  14. Hi fellow builders, my name is Mike. I started building when i was a little kid with my dad. I used to harass him all the time to build. I am now 35. i built until i was about 20 or so then life other things in life got in the way. Last year I broke out all my models and started building again. I had about 100 when i stopped building and now i have 300-400. I like all sorts of vehicles, Muscle cars, race cars, trucks, rigs, almost any vehicle. The street cars I love are Toyota's and AMC's. I like to be different. I know that NASCAR is not to popular in the model community but i do enjoy it myself. Other racing cars i have are Sprint cars, Modified Stockers, Drag, IMSA, Monster Trucks, F1, and i will take junk bodies and make them into race cars. I have a passion for racing. Before i stopped building years ago i found race car trailers at a store. I bought everything they had for 10 a piece. i had about 10 of them. Now to find them its more than double that it your lucky. I have about 20 of them now. Since I got back into the hobby and my dad is now retired i am still hassling him to work on some. I have bought a few for him to do, I have got him everything he need to get them started and done. As far as my modeling ability, I think I'm good but not advanced. I don't invest a bunch into my builds. i think its awesome to see them wired, modified and such but i just don't have the money to throw at it. Plus I'm a perfectionist so that pisses me off a lot too. Anyway, thanks for having me!
