The only VW type 1 I could find during the Pandemic. Sectioned, chopped top, widened fenders, dechromed. Still can’t get scribe lines right, but working on it. Also have trouble losing patience near the end.

This is a Revell 1950 Oldsmobile coupe kit that I made into a ’49 fastback. It’s a conventional late ‘50s custom, dechromed with frenched headlights; It has a Mercury grille, Corvette taillights and classic ’57 Olds spinner hubcaps plus a chopped top. I’m pretty much a beginner and I almost gave up and tossed this several times until I discovered the Tutorials here on the Forum — Thanks a lot for the tips. I hope to do better next time.

Hi, another new enthusiast. I began modeling back in the middle '50s with the new 1:32 car series that came out. I had a brief hiatus until the '90s, quit again until just recently (Pandemic). I'm ready to get serious now. I noticed that, through the years, you guys have advanced an awful lot. I hope I can learn a bit. I recently downsized and no longer have any 1:1 stuff like tools and a garage, so maybe I can get with it. I included a photo of what I'm doing right now, a '50 Olds mild custom of the late '50s (Revell '50 Olds Custom 85-4022).
