  1. I loaded up the gun and clear coated a few car bodies. Some you have seen some you have not first up is 50 Olds 66 Impala 58 Impala Ed Fluck gave this to me. Somebody painted the color and did not like the paint job so I wet sanded it a little and clear coated it http://images61.fotk...DSCN1476-vi.jpg http://images16.fotk...DSCN1477-vi.jpg 62 Buick. I did a test paint job to show somebody how to air brush but, I don't like the car or color so I don't know if I will ever finish it. I just thru some wheels under it for photos http://images54.fotk...DSCN1479-vi.jpg http://images61.fotk...DSCN1480-vi.jpg http://images16.fotk...DSCN1478-vi.jpg that's it
  2. I think Ed is charging 18.00 but, you need to email him for the price. Sorry I don't do the reverse rake......... I have a reputation to uphold.
  3. Got some paint on the Olds, Black golds BC265 white solid base with PBC46S Kopper Pearl with Dupli-Color silver flake roof. Ed Fluck at Drag City Castings just cast a new tuck and roll interior for this kit. I got one of the first ones around and it is incredible! 2 door panels with separate door handles and arm rests. Rear seat and front seat. I have some separate shots of the castings
  4. This was a drag racing slot car body I made and I am converting it back to a model car. Curbside, just mocked up the tires and wheels
  5. update 11/5 I have the Olds in primer and I flaked the roof. I am not sure which way I am going. I am thinking black with silver flake roof with red and white tuck and roll enjoy!
  6. I am not an Olds guy but; I bought one on a whim. Nice tooling minimal clean up on the body. I was missing a few trees on mine but, Revell send out my missing stuff promptly. I am using 57 Corvette wheels and tires with the "ARTERAKE" added Bob Dudek side pipes, Spots, shaved hood, trunk and doors. I don't like the way the fender trim spreads into the headlights so I shaved it back to looks like it stops on the fender. I also shaved off the taillight holes and will be using a small taillight on the rear. This will be a curbside car no motor. Thats it so far
  7. nope all stock, just cut the holes in the frame out and straight down it went.
  8. I actually built something. It's a snap kit! I lowered it, painted a few details. I actually added red piping to the seats and after I stuck in the batman and robin figures you can't see them. enjoy!
  9. I had to buy my own too. I only had enough money for a 3 speed not enough for a krate. The fastback bikes you have you are correct on the years. You can tell by the style of the shifter which changed slightly every year
  10. here is the link for all the photos http://public.fotki.com/IrvinArterJr/1970-schwinn-3-spee/
  11. I just finished my 3 speed sting ray I bought new in 1970. I have the front fork decals coming tomorrow and thats it. Been collecting parts since 1993
  12. The paint is Tamiya spray paint "champagne" is the color. The hood is a resin cowl hood. All emblems are photoetch. I paint all the edges on my photoetch flat black and sand off the tops. It gives it depth and when you photograph the model adds a natural shaddow around it. Here is a sheet of photoetch and you can see the black and color on the emblem Here is another 66 Chevelle and you can see the black shaddow on the Super Sport emblem
  13. Finished a model car! I can't see anymore and I dropped all the parts at least once on the floor!
  14. This Saturday if your going to GM Carlisle look us up in the field for the car show. We have finished our 69 El Camino and we are driving it up for it's first show. Also our dad will have his 84 Safari Sport Pontiac El Camino right next to us Here's dads and ours Here is what it looked like before we started
  15. Coming down to final details on the El. Rebuffing and hand rubbing out the paint and installing the stripe kit just need to finish up the headliner and visors and were done!
  16. The car has returned from the exhaust shop. 2-1/2" pipes with a "H" pipe and Flowmaster 40's The exhaust tips only hang down about 1/2" below the rear bumper Friday night we went for our first road trip out to a local drive in called "The Tropical Treat" and you can see our "ARTERAKE" as the springs settle in. next time I will take my tripod for better night time shots. we later in the night lost a clip on the shifter and had to drive a few miles in first gear back to the shop!
  17. I have bought 2 of each versions and also bought Norm Veber's modified chopped Sedan Delivery body (yes, it is on my list of thing to build). My father has owned a few 48 aerosedans over the years so I always have liked the 48's. I agree with Tim Boyd about the 41's. I would have liked to see them first. I think it would have sold out sooner(just my personal opinion only not backed up by any facts or figures). For me I don't think I am a lazy modeler as so much as I just don't have the time to build kits to the max when I have so many I want to build! (for many of us this is not our only hobby) It took a lot of nadd's to invest the amount of money needed to bring this kit to us at this quality level of a kit I thought we would never see much less 2 versions. You could buy a nice house for that kind of money. A lot of good points going both directions. I can't believe I took the time to read all 9 pages of post! So I pat myself on the back for that (just kidding,I can't reach my back, bad shoulder) I too can't believe we don't see more of these built but, when you do see them I think you will agree they are all well done. The end result of this tread? I think I will pull this one back out and work on it as soon as I finish that 58 resin Chevy I just bought at NNL East!
  18. I finished up my 37 Chevy tonight. I was pretty happy with it until I was shooting the photos and I dropped the car on the floor! Took a chunk out of the drip rail and top on the drivers’ side. Stuff happens, it’s good I did not clear coat it……….OK here is what we have. Ed Fluck Jr’s “Drag City Casting†chopped top body with hood. I shaved the door handles and the gas cap off. Added spotlights from the parts box. I pinned the headlights and spots with brass pins. I also used the custom grill and headlights in the 37 Chevy kit. I drilled out rear taillight and found some pointy taillights from the parts box. I used from the AMT parts pack Grill teeth and modified them for 4 small bumpers front and back. And added front exhaust dumps modifying the side pipes from the AMT 62 Pontiac kit. Rounding out the back is 2 exhaust tips made from aluminum and a “MAMA†license plate. Paint is airbrushed HOK white base with Pagan Gold, no clear just flat. I used 53 Corvette hubcaps and a set of good old AMT Firestone’s and airbrushed whitewalls. This is a curbside so I cut the ###### out of the front tires and cut the front frame off back to the running boards to get it low enough for me. I hope it kills you to know that. I get a lot of pleasure knowing it bothers people! Interior is painted pearl white using the custom dash and gauges from the kit. I added a polished aluminum steering column with a 57 Corvette steering wheel from the parts pin with a photo etch center. I bent a pin shifter with big white ball. I found an original set of AMT 53 Studebaker custom front seats. That’s it. If you want to see this car it will be at Ed’s resin table at NNL East. Stop by and pick up a 37 Chevy body before they are all gone! enjoy! more shots at the link http://public.fotki.com/IrvinArterJr/irvins_model_cars-1/chevrolet_models/37-chevy/
  19. My brother just painted this Ford. My favorite color. Black on black. If you look at the reflection on the drivers side you can see our El Camino!
