bbowser Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 MegaHobby flyer this morning says "On the water, 4-6 weeks away"!
unclescott58 Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Looks cool. I've never built a Heller kit. I assume they are okay? Even though I think the subject of this kit is cool, I'm sorry to say I will more than likely not be adding this kit to my collection. Still, I'd be interested in seeing a review and build of the kit when it comes out.
Daddyfink Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 It looks oddball enough for me to want one.
Mike999 Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Looks cool. I've never built a Heller kit. I assume they are okay? ...Their kits are generally OK but sometimes very fiddly IMO. I've built HELLER car and 1/35 armor kits.Another modeler once said of HELLER - "They never use 1 part when they can use 5." That doesn't always mean more detail, sometimes just more complexity and frustration. Though not sure, I believe this tractor is from a brand-new mold and they may have changed their ways. Their older kits like the Citroens and Renaults date back to the 1960s or 70s.
Atmobil Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 I am a great fan of old Heller kits and I remember reading an article somewhere about their way of designing kits back in the 60s and 70s and they really had hign ambitions, one was that they tried to make the fitment of window glass the same way as on 1:1 scale car, that is with a rubber seal that fitted around the glass and then the glass and seal would be fitted in to the body on a very thin lip in the body. They never managed to get it to work but they tried to make greatly detailed models for people that wanted to build a model and not just a un-assambled toy or promo.I have however not had much experience with more modern Heller kits but I belive that the once that have been released as new tools in the last couple of years are quite good. I have the Renault 4 they made and it looks good. I'm going to order a bunch of the fergies as I have many ideas for them and I also want to build one with my son. He is a great fan of a Norwegian tv series called "Little Grey Fergie"
unclescott58 Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Okay.... I tapped on the picture of Fergie above, wondering if maybe it was a link to a video. Sure enough it is. And I watched my first episode of Fergie. Hmmm. Charming and stupid at the same time. Why does Fergie hide from the people seeing him moving around by himself? If they except that Scarcrow is alive, they should have no trouble with accepting Fergie. And boy was that episode short. Not long enough to really develop a decent story. The beginning and end credits told more of a story. I'm assuming Fergie episodes are normally longer then that.I'd love to live on farm like the one that Fergie lives at. And maybe take a roll in the hay with Daisy from time to time (if you know what I mean). I assume since this is a kids show (right?), the closest we get to that is Daisy cuddling the baby sheep. Still it's a wonderful fantasy. And I can see why kids would like it.

This is the first episode of a recently made series that was ment to make it more international. This one is clearly made in England but the origianl series was made in the mid to late 90s here in Norway. They made toys of it and also had a club and made many live shows. My son is now 4 years old and he has the DVDs and also a 1:32 toy version of the tractor. He wants to build a model with his dad all the time and I think that we should make an effort in building a model of it.Her is a link to the English website: http://www.littlegreyfergie.com/ And no, not much rolling in the hay with Daisy
unclescott58 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Okay, I just got done watching "A Week With Fergie." And I've got to say I like it. Monday was a little lame. But, things got more interesting after that. I especially like the Scrap Dealer and his sidekick. Cute show. A perfect show for young kids. I'm now a bit of a fan.
