Considering  that probably the majority of 1950's semi-trailers were smoothsided, fluted aluminum siding just coming into the marketplace by the very late 60's,  a 40's or 50's round-nose Fruehauf trailer should be rather doable, IMO.

We had a family friend that talked about having sleepers like that when he first started driving truck. Said he spent many a night sleeping under the trailer. Then the owner suggested that they start team driving and thought maybe one driver could sleep while the other drove. (yeah, right! could you imagine?LOL)

You can bet what the reaction was from the drivers!:lol:

The owner conceded and bought new tractors with sleepers instead!
