Twokidsnosleep Posted March 14, 2018 Author Posted March 14, 2018 Ok here we go. Dry fit photos sorted out now I am looking forward to getting my tubing for the engine detail and some clear, though I probably wont wait for that. I keep moving this forward by jumping all over the place vs building step by step. I have been from front to back of the instruction booklet and have to be careful not to skip or miss anything Thanks for looking

Quick GMC Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 This is looking really good. I have this kit with the Model Factory Hiro upgrade kit and some other stuff, but not sure when I'll get around to it.
Twokidsnosleep Posted March 17, 2018 Author Posted March 17, 2018 Couple more shots with the body panels loosely fitted. The kit is well engineered and goes together well, no cement here, just good fitment
Rider Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Very nice. This will be cracking with the decal on.
Belugawrx Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Nice progress Scott ! Are those aftermarket tires, or are the 1:20th Tamiya's solid?

Actually, there are! You can even get rain tires. Looks great so far, nice decaling. What did you use to simulate the bolts on top of the fuel tank? Later, Lee

Twokidsnosleep Posted March 24, 2018 Author Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) Thank you gentlemen for all the comments and encouragement So next up was putting together the sub assemblies ...engine on, cockpit in and seatbelts made. I used the paper Tamiya belts from the kit, they are ok but would use fabric in the future Testing out a little cowling off display idea Edited March 25, 2018 by Twokidsnosleep

Twokidsnosleep Posted March 27, 2018 Author Posted March 27, 2018 (edited) As I am trying to figure out how to display this build, a friend pointed out that if it is in pit lane, it would have the side pods installed and on its wheels...only stripped down in the closed garage. So these are the last photos with side pods off Edited March 27, 2018 by Twokidsnosleep
Belugawrx Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Really nice engine works there Scott,..where did you source that yellow wire from the ignition box..? Cheers

Cheers Thanks Bruce, but Oh you are making an old man think here It is some small nondescript electrical wire I had that looked right in scale, maybe even unravelled picture frame wire. I doubled a length over in the middle to make a loop and make it look like two wires then I dipped it in Tamiya flat yellow XF-3
