#1 model citizen Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Another 2 year old build. Used Krylon Glitter blast as a kind of challenge to 2 tone & BMF using such a coarse finish.. Surf board is still being finished @ the surf shop.
LouO Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Nice! I'd love to find the Malibu version of this series (replicate my first car) but the prices of these kits are fetching outrageous prices. Nice to see someone actually build one!
Cpt Tuttle Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 There's not enough caricature builds being done today, nice to see one being finished, and the coarse metalflake works very well too.
#1 model citizen Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 Thank you all for the positive comments!

I built this just for fun. Didn't sweat any details or spend hours researching anything about it. I have started a Rat Fink & have several Weirdo's, Silly Surfers ,etc. to go!

The glitter is in the paint & the glitter colors appear to be different between the 2 colors. Paint is Krylon Glitter Blast (orange blast & bronze blaze) I also used the sealer. The glitter gives it a coarse, sand like texture.

So basically a heavy flake like back in the 70's when painters pretty much laid down some clear, punched holes in a box full of flake and shook it over the clear. Then buried it with a ton of clear.
Renegade Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Wow, that is a lot of glitter. Great looking build.
