Sledsel Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Glad to see this one returning. Hope other Paystars will return.
iamsuperdan Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 I built this one and the cement truck when I was a kid. Will have to grab this and do a good job this time! 1
PintoKING Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 When watching the video of it: Notice at 5:08, the item "8" on the side of the box. Odd, very odd! Says there's a transfer-case... But there is none in that kit. Could it be that there would have been a 6x6 option that would have been available in the original ERTL kit? But a very minor detail; I still want that kit! Now, we need the "log-hauler" version. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/ertl-8014-international-paystar-5000-logger--542763
ranma Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 (edited) when Ertl issued the Paystar 5000 kit's there were 4 of them. The Cement truck, Dump Truck, Logging truck, and a highway hauler which was basically the logger without the trailer. The Logger is easy to do from either of the other three kit's as the AMT logging trailer has the parts that go to the semi. Anyway even the Highway truck can be made from the Dump truck by using the rear tires from a Transtar 4300 kit along with the complete fifth wheel. Edited March 4, 2023 by ranma

As for IH truck models from Ertl: Transtar 4070 A, Transtar 4200, Paystar 5000 Dump, Cement mixer, Logger, Highway hauler, Transtar II, Transtar 4300, S-Series 2575 2674 (the 2674 came in 2 veriations one Highway the other a dump truck. then came the Transtar 4300 race truck followed by the 1/32 scale IH 9670 Eagle. Other IH kits ertl made: Payhauler 350, 1466 Farm Tractor, Farm wagon, plow. Then there are the IH Scout II's One year only'76 Scout II followed by the '77 Scout II, Scout II Off Road, and the Scout II SS Off road. Side Note: the 76 Scout II was the first issue which has the '76 grill design. it was followed closely with the '77/78 grill design. The '76 was molded in Orange while the 77/78 was in yellow. The artwork on the box was changed some to reflect the 77/78 grill .The second issue 77/78 scout was recently reissued in retro box art, and molded in Yellow. Edited March 6, 2023 by ranma

Yes, the "Race Truck" was an International; very few different parts than the "regular" kits; https://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truckkit_instructions/ertl/8039_international/ Then, that one, a Peterbilt, with metal frame; ("Drag Truck") https://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truckkit_instructions/ertl/8040-drag-truck/ Edited March 6, 2023 by PintoKING
