2023 BRGB - GMC General Knight Rider

Recommended Posts

It's been quite awhile since I have sat down and done some modelling. I recently picked up the AMT GMC General kit and some decals to replicate the GMC General from Knight Rider. I have found some photos online of the truck but not many, so I'll do the best I can to make a reasonable likeness of the truck.

Having today off, I started on the kit assembling and painting the engine and frame of the truck.

I managed to get a little more work done today.

Painted the engine, I struggled with the color to paint it but finally settled on a cobalt green which was as close as I could find to alpine green. I think that is the color of the Detroit Diesel color. I'll be dirtying it up and spaying some flat clear on it to make it look a little more used.

I then got a little more work done on the frame and started on the front suspension.

Then started to prep the body and assembled the sleeper.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Lee!

I have been doing quite a bit more research on the General from the show. It appears the engine in the truck is actually a Cummins. I'm not sure exactly which engine it is, but as far as I can tell from my research it must be a NTC- 350.

Would anyone be able to confirm this?
