Romell R Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Thanks fellas for all the support got two updates for ya that may take all of 15 pics to post the first is a little bddy work getting closer to paint time. the second Ill let you guess where its going. All in all I hope you enjoy here I was able to get the truck lid area shaped up....and the door jams in place. Just a small update Stay tuned we'll be back after these messages.....
Romell R Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Ok heres the suprize well not much of a suprize but I thought it would be fun to let you guess what its goin to be. See if you know the answer before I give it away. Have fun! Started with these materials Had to make a closed cylinder so I soldered these two pieces together Once it was soldered together I cut it off short to make this.... Then a piece of tube with a slightly smaller diameter was soldered on to the plate I had just made... And this is what I have once I cut the tube short..... Do you know what im making yet???? well if not move on to the next update.....
Romell R Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 ok so we have 5 clues if its killing you just scroll ahead and you'll see what it is,.....If you want to spoil it for yourself that is. For a refresher heres the new part...... I needed to close up the back so I soldered this plate onto the new part..... here it is with the plate on the back now.....any guesses yet???? ok so I drilled a hole in the midle of the new part.... Is your heart Reving this should be a dead give-a-way Ok If you dont have it by now the next set of photos should clue you in......
Romell R Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Alrighty then here we go...... This little piece fits in the middle in the hole that was drilled earlyer Added some paint and some numbers and came up with this......Do ya know now???? Thats right its a Tachometer and in this pic im attaching the glass, its blue because it has a protective cover on it. Here the glass is added and so are the dial-in dials And here it is with the beauty ring added I left it brass purposely as a reminder of what the build started from all thats left is to make a bracket to hold it and wire it up. I hope you enjoyed , cya soon
Mooneyzs Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Rom... Very Nice buddy!! Killer work on the tach. I hope you are bringing this up on Saturday .... hint hint Looking forward to seeing your stuff in person and meeting you. Keep up the great progress on this build.

John Teresi Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Romell........you sure do have some skills Brother........looks great.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 The skill level here is through the roof, Rom. Great eye candy, my friend.
MoparWoman Jamie Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I tune in everyday, through out the day when I can to see what Rom has done. I love the build man an I keep on lovin it all the time also. Keep the progress updates coming bro!
Romell R Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks guys its good to be back at my bench (even if it is just a table lol!) I got package from Jim aka Micro Nitro and Ill post some pic of the contents later today. all I can say is I cant wait to play with this stuff LOL! cya soon.
Romell R Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Heres what I got from Jim , Im just gonna hit em with some Mothers and a polishing wheel and drill out the bolt holes and get em all detailed up and slap em on the chassis! Thx again Jim for an excellent product this is money well spent. Set of carbon fiber brake rotors New front rims and new rear rims....why did I get new rims you ask? well my old ones got CA Glue haze all over them and when I saw these well ...you know the rest.
Romell R Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Well had to pull the motor out because I decieded I want to buy the clutch housing from Jim aka Micro Nitro so the hole in the firewall had to be made bigger, fortunately the motor came out in one piece and I wont have to re-plumb anything.... and heres the re-shaped firewall hole...
Romell R Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 once I finished that I had to make a way to mount the new wheels f, (also from Jim) he makes some really good wheels but you better know how your gonna mount em, really its not hard because he drills a mounting hole for ya in the se this is what I did. Had to figure out a way to fit these for my axles which were already done so I drilled out the wheel hubs just to make them a tad bigger so I could fit a piece of brass tube in the hub.... once that was done I was able to cut it short now this piece will fit over the wheel axles that stick out of the rear end. axle and this is how it all comes together in the end...
Prostreet Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Looking good Rom, Good to see the motor came out in one piece.
Romell R Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks Joe and I must admit it was you that inspired me to get these wheels. And wipe the dust off this project and get it done. Keep up the great work on your build.
