Sorry for the very late reply. I don't get on here often. The wheels I used are from the Revell Chevy Impala Police car.

    FHP Caprice

Finally finished my FHP Caprice. It's built from Revell Impala SS, Caprice Police Car, and Impala Police Car. The Vector light bar is from a Lindberg Charger kit. Painted with Testor's and Alclad through my airbrush and lightly weathered with pastel chalk dust.
  6. I mixed up my own blue for this car. It's Model Master Grabber Blue with a few drops of white in it. Thanks everybody for the compliments.
  7. Thanks. Just careful masking. I use the same fine line tape used for real cars.
  8. I restored this car from a built one. It was a black and white at one time and then redone as a civilian car. It's pretty much box stock. The only additions are some detailing in the engine compartment ( spark plug wires, radiator hose, and heater hoses). On the front seat there's a box of donuts, cup of coffee, and a Detroit Free Press. I painted it with Model Master enamel and Alclad. I have some pictures of it being restored if there's any interest in seeing them.
  9. Saw it at the Southlandz show. Cool looking car.
  10. I usually let it dry for a couple weeks. I move on to other projects so I don't mess with it.
  11. Thanks for the compliments. It means a lot.
  12. I didn't take any interior pictures while building it. I'll try to take a couple and see how they turn out. The changes I made to make it an '89 were the steering wheel/column, and removed the rear seat belt covers off the rear package tray. I'm sure there are other differences, but those two things are the most obvious on a model car. I couldn't get a good picture of the dashboard, but you can see the rear package tray okay in this shot. The steering wheel came from an old MPC Mustang GT and I scratchbuilt the column. Part of the radio/radar/lightbar control equipment came from the kit and the radar itself came from a Taurus kit. I added an additional radio that's mounted under the dash.Thanks.
  13. Revell '90 Mustang LX 5.0 kit. Made a few changes to the interior to make it an '89. Used the Jetsonic lightbar out of a Taurus police car kit. Got the decals from a friend, not sure who made them. Weathered with different shades of gray pastel chalk. Paint is Model Master enamel.
  14. The tailight lenses came from a Jeep Bushwacker kit. I made the rings with a hole punch from Evergreen plastic.
  15. Plastic Performance Products. I get them from Model Roundup usually or from Daytona Racing Souvenirs and Hobbies in Daytona Beach. The tires I used on this car are 57-59 Goodyear racing tires. Thanks again for all the compliments.
  16. The tow lights I added are from a Jeep Bushwacker kit, but you could use about any light that looks like a trailer light.
  17. The kit comes with a stock street car exhaust. I removed the mufflers and replaced them with Evergreen tubing. Then rerouted the exhaust into the trunk. The exhaust tips coming out of tailight covers are the ones that come with the kit. Again, thanks everybody for the compliments. It means a lot.
