Prostreet Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Cool, Congrats on the new House, Hope to see you up and running again soon.
hOLMS Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Hi Joe, that chassis work is just plain "outta this world". This is outstanding buddy.
Prostreet Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Thank you Jeff. Ok, i was able to get the engine mounted and the oil system completed tonight. I scratch built an oil filter to replicate the System 1 replaceable element filter, the oil system is plumbed just like the 1:1 would be. the exit on the oil tank is underneath the tank but it should be on the front side, I didn't take that into consideration and made my steering rack to close to the tanks. won't make that mistake on the next one, i also made and added the fire nozzles and line. I hope to have the fuel system done, intake mounted and front suspension one by end of the weekend. I also have the front brakes on the way from Jim (micronitro) Big thanks to Dave (comp1839) for help with the oil system. Used Protech line and RB motion fittings.
RAT-T Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 MAN, THAT LOOKS GREAT JOE! STILL CAN'T GET OVER HOW REAL THOSE WELD DECALS LOOK
W-409 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 STILL CAN'T GET OVER HOW REAL THOSE WELD DECALS LOOK Me too! If I didn't know they were decals, I would be sure that Joe had used somekind of mini-welding machine. The oil system looks excellent to me, just like in 1:1 cars! This is absolutely inspiring build, keeps me going. Thanks for sharing it.
Prostreet Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) MAN, THAT LOOKS GREAT JOE! STILL CAN'T GET OVER HOW REAL THOSE WELD DECALS LOOK Thx. Tom, I was surprised how good the decals looked, very happy the way they turned out. Me too! If I didn't know they were decals, I would be sure that Joe had used somekind of mini-welding machine. Mooneyzs Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Joe.... man this build is off the hook. killer detail. it is inspiring to see the engine mounted along with the killer detail on the oil system. I cant wait to get to this point with my funny car build although I am getting close to being able to get the chassis in paint. I am also working on getting those pics out to you as well. I apologize it has taken me longer than it should.

Prostreet Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Very impressive detail work. Thx. Wayne, This build is really pushing my skills, but i'm loving every second of it.
Prostreet Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Well had a little set back with the fuel system with regards to the fuel pump, So i'm working with someone now to try and get one made. I decided to get the front suspension on and steering done, The wheels are not attached yet since i still need to do the brakes, I have some lamb front brakes coming from Jim. I figured i would get some pictures with all the wheels on and the rear section of body. Last view is what all you NOS and Blower guys will see LOL.
Mooneyzs Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Joe this build is looking sick! Man am I loving it. That chassis just looks mean. Love the pic with the body on too, makes it look fast. This is an outstanding build. It sure looks nice. Keep on doing what you are doing cause it's beautiful.
tyrone Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This is just plain SICK... love how this is shaping up Joe... excellent pics on this last post...
gasser59 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Truly top notch building Joe. Love following along with this one. Proceed.
comp1839 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 your workmanship speaks for itself, joe. stunning doesn't begin to explain it.
futurattraction Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I haven't stopped in in a while, Joe. Sorry. You've absolutely outdone yourself on this build. Put some appropriate backdrop up behind it and I'd be hardpressed to not think it was a 1:1. The weld decals are very impressive, but your fab work is even more so... Keep up the fantabulous work!
Prostreet Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thx. Guys, it's been a long road. Still a ways to go but getting there, This build has been very challenging for me. Thought before i take the body off i would throw a door and the front clip on it, still needs to get body work done.
ScrappyJ Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) Out-freak'n-standing!!! Edited January 7, 2013 by ScrappyJ
Mooneyzs Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Joe...just awesome man! Any ideas on colors you are gonna go with on the body?
Prostreet Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Thx. Guys. Chris, thinking of 2 different color combos right now. Main body color white with some red design or main color black with red design, right now biggest problem is trying to make the decals for the side trim and grill.
vintagedragfan Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Dang Joe! That its tooo cool, wicked work bro, I'll bet you have a permagrin right now huh? Killer man! Edited January 9, 2013 by vintagedragfan
Mooneyzs Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Joe...those color combos will be nice. I have one of the tom mcewen 57 chevy funny car that has the side trim decals. I can scan ot so you can use it as a start ans scale it up since it is a 1/25 scale. if you think that will help let me know and I will shoot it over to you.
