Ryan S.
Hi all, I got the parts below as extras in any open box kit. Sorry the picture is a little far away but can anyone point me in the direction of which kit(s) these might be from. If needed, I'll get some closer shots up tomorrow. Thanks! Ace-Garageguy
The engine in the pic has a definite Chebby look, especially the water pump, but if it is, I'm guessing it's a big-block, judging from the even exhaust-port spacing of the stock exhaust manifold at the bottom center. Small-block Chebbies have the characteristic two-in-the-middle-together exhaust-port spacing. The valve covers on the upper chrome tree look like big Chebby also, from what I can see on my screen. Do the referenced Impala kits have big blocks in them?
Ryan S.
Thanks guys. I'll get some closer-up pictures tomorrow that will show all this stuff more clearly.
Casey
What does the flange in the upper left corner of the octagonal chrome sprue have cast into it?
Ryan S.
What does the flange in the upper left corner of the octagonal chrome sprue have cast into it? I'll have to look to see. That whole octagonal tree is a blower assembly. I'll see if there's kit numbers molded into it.
mnwildpunk
Those seats look like the 65 el' camino seats for stock and drag versions but they probably came in other kits too. I agree it looks like a BBC. To me also. But I also think I see an E-body console
Dan Helferich
I'm pretty sure the tree with the tri power manifold is also from the old AMT '67 Chevy kits. I think I built my convertible with those wheels. The small tree with the blower might be from a later issue AMT '29 Model A roadster. Ryan S.
Some closer pictures for your enjoyment. I was able to determine that some parts are from AMT #2345 These parts: These all seem like they might be from the same kit, but not sure. The chrome sprue tree has the numbers 1727-5 on it, but despite some searching I couldn't find a kit match: and these don't seem to match the others: Thanks for the help on this, it'll be nice to know where these all came from! Cheers.
Casey
and these don't seem to match the others: Thanks for the help on this, it'll be nice to know where these all came from! Cheers. Are those twin headlights on the LH side?
Ryan S.
They might be. They're semi hollow on the other side with a small raised post in each of the circular parts.
