High octane
Have you tried Model Masters Jet Exhaust? Try it as it looks good on carbs as well as other underhood and chassis parts.
Deathgoblin
I usually do a base coat of steel or aluminum, then wash in a mix of gold and steel, then a little drybrush in gold. That comes pretty close to the weird anodized color that's ususally on a carburetor.
bug1623
eastwood restoration products make a line of spray paint called carb renew works great and looks originalwe use it in the shop whenever we rebuild old carbs i know it comes in both the gold and silver and 1 can will last a lifetime of model cars

Brett Barrow
I thought I repsoned to this last night, but I must have not hit the "post" button - Alclad Pale Gold and Pale Burnt Metal are my 2 faves for carbs. Testor's Jet Exhaust (the MM enamel and Acryl color, not "Exhaust" the Metalizer), Burnt Metal Metalizer and Tamiya Titanium Gold are good ones to keep around, too. TheRX7Project
I stumbled across a perfect combination for the Holley Dichromate finish the other day. Mix 2 parts aluminum silver with 1 part turn signal amber. Adjust as necessary. EDIT: These are Testors enamels in the little bottles Edited April 21, 2013 by TheRX7Project
