So, I'm building this Camaro from the music video for Gorillaz' "Stylo".

I've wanted to do this for ages, and thought it was an original idea but it turns out someone has already made one (there's a thread about that I made...) but eventually I bit the bullet and I ordered this kit and it arrived today, so I quickly put some basecoats on some parts.

The body will be put aside for now, I'll get all the assembly and interior built, then I'll worry about it and the modifications to it last.

If you are looking for a good blower like the one in stylo, the 68 corvette kit from revell has a good one (I'm surethere are many more, but i have the vette kit)

Thanks a lot everyone! :)

Thanks Daytonalover, but I just couldn't justify buying a whole kit just for that, the money simply isn't here. :/

@Austin - Haha, I wish! The day someone makes a 1/24 or 1/25 kit of him though... :)

Since people wanted to see more.. Here's a very small update just for tonight. I'll have more done tomorrow.

Did some engine work. Just a bit. Gave it all a wash.

Also washed the wheels, they look great.

Took the headrests off the seats because as you can see in the video, there aren't any. Some putty and sanding needed here..

Thanks for looking! :)

Edit - Also, a question. For the blower... I've no real idea of how the mechanicals of a car works, so bare with me. Does a blower go in place of your air filter thingy? or is it just attached to the bonnet or..? I don't think on the real Stylo camaro the blower was functional so depending on the work it'd take to put one on this I might make this one a "fake" too.

Cheers!

Cool. I wanted to see somone attempt this, never saw the other one.

Headrests are usually removed for movie cars so you can get an unobstructed view of the actors, its the same reason many road trip movies use convertibles, too.

Blowers are used in place of the air filter assembly. They aren't intended for street use. The blower sits on top of the carburator assembly, above the supercharger.

Well I know for sure the Blower on the Stylo Camaro is fake. There is a video on youtube somewheres where the current owner of the car does a walk around and lifts the hood.

Thanks a lot everyone!! :)

This is where I'm at at the minute. Started on the interior, removed the headrests, tried to give it an overall gritty and grimy look. Not how it is in the video (well, we can't really see in the video) but I'm calling it artistic licencing to match the theme of the car.

That's a cool video and song!!!! I saw it when it first came out. I was suprised to see Bruce Willis in it!

When I first looked at the finished model... I thought it was pretty cool looking. After watching the video... This is so freaking awesome... Looks totally bad @$$!! B) Love how you replicated a lot of the little details from the vid. I hadn't noticed the one headlight or the side mirror at first... Fantastic! :) Only thing missing is the Gorillaz... So beast!

BTW... Digging the GTI. That steering wheel looks awesome. Did you build the scale version on the dash of it?

Cheers you two, really means a lot! Cranky, this was one of my most enjoyable builds yet. I think the entirety of it was spent listening to Gorillaz to get me in the mood! :P

Thanks very much Luis :) I did! Now it's buggered though. :( There's a thread on here of it finished!
