OldTimer50707
This is the first model I've completed in 50 years. Is it perfect? No. Did I learn from the mistakes I made? Absolutely. So I will take any advice as to how to do better on my next one.
JunkPile
"how do I do better" you ask. Completing a model is almost as good as it gets

High octane
Nice job on that Fiat Lee as I'm currently workin' on one as wel,l and it's orange also. I like that you put the chute on the outside of the body, as if I were drivin' the 1:1 car, I wouldn't trust that chute comin' out of the hole for the tire cover. 10thumbs
Hello Lee, Nice job, it looks like you still have the touch, got the motor with plug wires and the build looks real clean, I like it! You and I are pretty much in the same boat, and techniques and detailing have gotten a lot finer. Lets move on and go with the flow, and whoop out some good clean cars! Your start back in the game has gone well. Greetings, Michael

AZ Boy
I think you did a super job on this Lee! Building style is clean, paint is very nice and the plug wiring is a nice touch. Congrats, Sir!
unclescott58
What's perfect Lee? It looks great to me. Welcome back to hobby after 50 years. If you do that good on your first model in 50 years, I look forward to seeing your future builds. I expect my socks to be blown off! OldTimer50707
Thanks so much for the comments. The one thing I was able to do was the entire car except for the engine block is painted with acrylic paint. Due to the issues I have with my lungs, I had to find an alternative to enamel and lacquer.

Speedfreak
Great job Lee, the paint job is really good! I too am working on this car, maybe you saw the thread. Did you have any 'fitment' (is that a word?) problems? For instance, getting the body in the right position? OldTimer50707
Gene, the only fit issues I had was the floor pan. There was a gap between the body and the floor pan which I did't notice until I had glued it. That was one of the mistakes I made. Thanks again for all the comments. It means a lot to me getting back into this after 50 years.
Speedfreak
I've been thinking that floor pan might be a problem. How about the engine to frame, any problems getting that lined up? Got any ideas for your next build? (I know you do!) Edited April 7, 2014 by Speedfreak
OldTimer50707
I didn't have any issues lining up the motor or the rest of the drivetrain. Getting the front axle and the radius arms glued up was a pain. It could have been because my fingers don't work like they used to. I'm not sure about the next project. I'm leaning toward the Hemi Dart. I'd liked to get one more build done before I start on the one I really want to do. That's the 57 Ford. I want to build it like the one I had in high school.
