checkmate Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 After reading and seeing a heap of builds and reviews I thought I'd try my hand at building a Lonestar. Is there any major issues I should look out for? I purchased it and a Prostar at the same time but thought I'd have a go at the Lonestar first. Last night I cleaned up the rails and assembled the chassis and today I primered it. Than this afternoon I got some colour on it.
Hessel Hemstra Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) Something as a tip. When fixing the cab mount you best line-out with the floor of the cab. The front support is not straight so needs to be fixed in the right position. The following link might help you. Sorry it is in German but a good translator would do. http://www.die-leitplanke.de/1-herzlich-willkommen/4-modelle-im-bau-gebaut/international-lone-star-gebaut/ Hessel Edited April 22, 2014 by Hessel Hemstra
Pavel A. Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) Hessel thanx for links. Das ist super Hilfe für Modeller. Danke Anthony, I also prepare this model incl. PE parts. I will follow carefully your work. Edited April 22, 2014 by Pavel A.
Jim B Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Nice blue. Do you see many LoneStars in Australia? We see them every so often here in the Northeast US. They're kind of a rare breed. ProStars, on the other hand, are all over the place.
checkmate Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 I haven't seen one out here mate, I think the Prostars get rebadged as CAT's out here but I'm not 100% on that. Around my area we mostly have Kenworths, Western Stars and that type of truck. I live in the Snowy Mountains and we're mainly a timber industry town with a small population of around 7000. Here's a local Tumut truck for you.
cappy625 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 looks like your off to a good start on the lone star. and that is one awesome kenworth!
kilrathy10 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) You've got a pretty good start, already.....Frame looks good.....I think the only real issue with this model is the instructions......They're pretty vague, at times.....The plumbing for the air intake is completely missing.....Not a single reference....Pictures or otherwise.....The Prostar instructions are much better and can be used as a guideline....I suggest you go on and open up that Prostar and take a gander at those......Also, you can download the Lonestar instructions from Revell's website......They're in traditional Revell style, but much better.....If you use them both, then you'll probably fair better..... I just had a thought....If you live in Australia, then you probably bought the Revell setup, anyway.....Never mind.... Edited April 22, 2014 by kilrathy10

Hey JT, no mate I've got the Moebius issues I got them from GMScustoms on ebay from the states. I've found the Revell instructions online and have downloaded them........should make life a little easier. Thanks everyone. Cheers Rob
