ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Well, my first under glass posting, I am super proud of this. I think it turned out excellent! What do you guys think?
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Here's some more detailed pictures,
vamach1 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Great job on the weathering. I can't remember which Ford kit has heads that has the rockers which would look cool. A 427 Cobra body was made of aluminum and most kits are fiberglass.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 It does look good (would probably look a little better if the pictures weren't sideways). vamach1 is correct too, in that real Cobras had aluminum bodies (aluminum doesn't rust) and most of the reproductions were fiberglass (which also doesn't rust). So if that brown stuff on your model is supposed to be rust, you might want to rethink it. If it's accumulated dirt and debris, it looks very realistic. Overall it does look convincing, and those blue tarps are a nice touch. Please don't be offended by my remarks. I'm REALLY trying to be helpful.
ProStreetOnTheStrip Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Okay, thanks for the help! Here's a quick story, The original owner bought it new He totaled it at a Road track race The second owner bought it it 1976 Which it has a gold motor He sold it in 1983 The third owner found big cracks in the aluminum (I don't know if "cracks" are accurate) so he replaced the aluminum with steel
