  1. You could maybe leave it as a base and spray on a candy or clear purple?
  2. Heres an update. Got the color shot on. No clear yet, waiting on it to cure before I go any further. In the front shot you can also see the GTR grill I made. The paint has a few small imperfections, but nothing major so Im happy with it. After the clear and wet sand, they prolly wont even be noticeable. Thanks for looking!
  3. Wow... that is impressive, sir! Love these things. I bet it is a one of a kind experience to drive!
  4. Gray, I live in Burlington. Im about 3 hours from Charlotte. Thanks for the reply I currently own an 89 240SX coupe that I plan to build, but the current economy has kept that from happening, lol. So I build it the only way I can... in plastic.
  5. Check out BNA models or The Parts Box. They have a resin 2JZ, 13B rotary, and the SR20... all popular AE86 swaps.
  6. Hopefully this one registers just a tad higher than the average rice burner, LOL. The spoon, (if you were serious) is just to show you plans for the final color.
  7. As always, comments a criticism is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for looking.
  8. Current updates. Rebuilt my Nismo powerbrace to make it look more realistic. Finished off my front brakes, detailed the front and rear subframes, built a fuel cell, started on my roll cage, and I GOT MY ORIGINAL CHROME STAGGERED MEISTERS!!!! The look SOOO sick! It took buying two sets of Gartimers to get them, but it was worth it. Oh and alot more filler and sanding for the bodywork. Anyway, thats where Im at. Its in final primer. I plan to shoot the paint (blue spoon) this week hopefully. I originally planned on black, but I just thought it would look too boring.
  9. Im not tryng to budt anyone's rivets or anything, so I hope I didnt offend anyone. I just dont see the import builds getting much love. Personally, I just try to appreciate the build craftsmanship even if I cant appreciate the style.
  10. I will be following this one. Love the look of the interior.
  11. 50 views and 1 reply... wow... Anyway, that trick with the seats is very nicely done. What did you do, just scribe it? Looks very realistic. Nice work!
  12. For the front spoiler, you could start with a piece of sheet styrene for the basic shape, make the actual spoiler from that, and then fill it in with your choice of filler, sand it to shape it. The work so far looks great.
  13. Heres my unfinished builds for 2012. I have one other that was finished and is getting rebuilt, so I didnt include that.
  14. Jesus.... can I hump it or would it break? I will be gentle...
  15. I plan to use the kit supplied lights. As for the grille, I think Im gonna do a GTR style grille. Ive always preferred that look and it would also aid cooling. But, it I did use the center garnish, I think I would just paint the back side of the lettering in silver and then paint a coat of black over it. Should allow the silver to remain and have it surrounded in black. Thats what I would do anyway. Thanks for looking and glad you like it! I appreciate the kind words on the work. Thats how I look at it... I dont care what the car is, Im appreciating the craftsmanship put into it. I like the manifold myself. I usually use Solder, but I decided to try out plastic and I like working with it. I can do tighter bends and more ornate designs with relative ease as long as you have the patience.
  16. Not much love for the imports here it seems. Ah well, I like showing off my work so its all good. Another small update. I got my wing in, made a rear diffuser, front lip, puttied and sanded a bunch, got my side skirts filled in, and shot a light coat of primer so I could see it all in one color. Im loving how aggressive this looks!
  17. Beautiful work so far, cant wait to see it with the wood!
  18. I remember one of yours, not sure which, but it was beautiful. I have no doubt this will be a work of art. Great start!
  19. Some small solder wrapped around a rod and sanded on one side. Then you just make your flanges and whatnot from styrene. The same can be done with plastic rod, but I find solder much easier to shape.
  20. Love your builds, bro! Always look forward to checking out your work.
  21. Dude, that paint work and color is amazing! I love that color, probably one of my favorite colors on pretty much anything classic.
  22. Alrighty, long time since I updated but Ive had my attention drawn in 100 different directions so my bench time is a little limited right now. Anyway, thanks for the replies boys! The more I work on it, the more Im loving it! So, heres an update. Suspension is finalized, including scratchbuilt Stance coilovers, adjustable camber with the shock towers, Nismo power brace, etc. I own a real 240SX, so Im pretty familiar with the layout, lol. Stance is final. Also started the engine work. Did my top mount turbo manifold out of styrene, which was a first for me. I usually do them with solder, but I think I like working with the styrene better. Also have the turbo made. I added the base for some side skirts and added a modded R32 front bumper. I just need to putty them. Got a wing for it on the way from Hobbylink Japan. So, thats where Im at for now. As always, comments and criticism is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks for looking.
  23. That is just beautiful! Excellent work. I think you sorted out the tail light issue perfectly. This thing looks like a legitimate concept!
  24. I like the side molding, looks like its meant to be there. As for the rear, Im not sure what to add but I think you are headed in the right direction. Maybe on top of what you did, a molding/flushed bumper and a center piece between the tails?
  25. Wow, dont know how I missed this build but WOW! You really brought those two cars together and made something incredible! Look forward to more of this one.
