Rob, I really appreciate you posting that link. That is exactly what I am feeling, ive always been a person to catch on quick. I find myself reading alot, looking over pictures, trying to get the skills more developed. I know reading doesnt make a builder but it makes it easier on them so there not constantly doing a trial and error.. I have spent so much time pondering thoughts of "what can i do to this, that most havent done in the past?" Once i start i realize, The other builders probably have more expirience than I do. I love the constructive criticism.

I like this CBP. I am going to join in this, I just need to dig through my stash and see what I could come up with...

I think i find it hard to build because i never have the right materials for what i want to do.. I try to build custom pickups and it hasnt worked for me in the past. i think i am gonna shelf all my current builds. I am gonna pick up one kit, grab some engine detail parts, grab some flocking, buy a few nice paint brushes and work on that model and do as was said "Treat every piece like its a model itself". I am gonna go with smaller mods, take my time and if I dont have what i need at the very moment ill hold off til i do have something i can do to it... i cant make Ny promises but i really hope that i can turn out some models that people will enjoy looking at and i will be proud to put into the display cases in my room.

I find myself time after time going beyond what my current model skills can handle and I always find myself backtracking, trying to fix my mess ups and it makes me lose interest... I think I need to start building box stock for awhile and slowly up my skills. I've ruined a lot of plastic doing this and its costing me a lot of $ because I always end up going an buying new kits... When you build do you go for the wow effect or do you do it for your own taste? I need to figure out something that I can keep up with, its mostly when it comes time ro build a custom frame or something I mess up, don't have the right supplies and I get frustrated and I give up... Maybe I need to switch over to a different style of building... ?

Switched up.. This is gonna look like a daily driven mini truck project...

I jumped into the GumBall run with a Ford Courier. I didn't see any other pickups being built so I figured why not? This may push me to finish up a kit.. I spent about 3 hours tonight working on the chassis, finding a power plant and trying to get the ride height set... This one will have more updates than any of my other builds and I hope you guys enjoy it. Here's a mocked ride height and the back will sit with a bit more of a rake.

Decided with all these nice rides if I wanted to come in first I better build something light, corners well and can hook up... so I decided to push the power out of this courier... ride is just mocked up for ride height, the back end will have more of a rake but here's what I'm thinking!! thoughts? -
Looks awesome. Very nice job on this one.

Have this forum ever tried where you get a group of modelers who are interested an you send 1 kit to a random name drawn, That person sends a kit to a random name drawn. Dont tell anyone what your sending, Just send it and once you recieve it, Post up on the forum and begin a build...... That way it could throw off someones regular build and make them branch out to another scene of modeling Pro Touring, Bagged, Lowrider, Rat Rod, Custom, Street Truck ETC. Any thoughts?

LOL! ! Thank you guys. I got a great girl, one who puts up with a lot of the non sense I do. Fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling trips with the buddies, car shows and now model cars. I couldn't of asked for any better. LOL at "You live in what". That'd sure be a funny episode. I plan to do all construction of everything except the shop tools basically. Those will be bought. Some of the buildings will be 3D fully dbuilt up dioss but I will be doing just front store faces along most of the road way but I will be detailing them with lights, Windows and such. I seen someone building curbs and fake grass that looked very real. ill need to find it again for my doo. I might be slow on the model builds due to this but, in the end ill have a very very nice way to display all my builds... I can't gaurentee all the builds will be mine LOL I might need to buy a few built ups to place on it... Then use them to plan around it. -
Your thoughts and prayers please

I am planning the whole diorama to be in 1/24 scale. I've never built anything besides that scale and honestly, if I went to a bigger scale my in expirience and flaws would stand our more and I wouldn't have the patience for anything smaller lol I'm planning it out so about 60 cars will fit on this dio. I am gonna take my time as much as possible so I don't rush this, I have the space so I figure why not use it LOL. I still got a lot of planning to do. I might end up needing more tables LOL! Gas station, Shop, Auto parts store, 3 houses in a culda sack, many store fronts along the road way
