Coming soon....Model King 1957 Police car kit!
misternemo replied to Dave Van's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
i second the hope that there will be inside spotlight handles.other items that would be nice would be a roof light in clear, that way it can just be painted with tamiya paints however you wanted it,a seperate "rubber gasket" for under the light would be even better.and some decent rear window lights, also with clear lenses. an early radar setup. some realistic antennas with correct bases.an early shotgun with a rack.a huge fender mounted siren.some unique agency decals would be great, tired of the same old stuff. well,i do have a weakness for this car in the mass.state police colors!! -

1978 Coroner's Van
misternemo replied to Scalper's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
M.A.D. or morgan automotive detail has the wheels you need, they have a set of them for cars, and a set for trucks/vans.i have both sets, and they are both excellent.they are, however molded as one piece (wheel with dog dish cap molded on) and would need to have the caps "chromed" and the wheels painted.(or,you could sand them down from the back until you just have the caps and use them on your own wheels.) set for the truck/vans even has "ford motor company" lettering on the caps.they are $5.25 a set,and are well worth every penny.i have also been doing a coroner van, although the van will be quite a bit newer. which agency will you be doing? mine will be los angeles county coroner. -
replicas and miniatures of maryland makes some excellent resin coils.they are from the correct era as well.they are not pre-wired,but they are pre-drilled for the wire.hope this helps.

AMT '58 Plymouth Belvedere CHRISTINE kit
misternemo replied to cooltoys1's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
yes there is.i have asked several resin casters over the years if they would make copies of small parts, wheels, etc.that was usually not a problem, but when it came to larger parts like a body, hood, etc. the answer was usually a no.they didn't want to copy someone elses work.i can understand that. but,if you really want to get technical, when a caster makes a conversion kit, body, part,or whatever, they normally start with a plastic kit, promo,or a diecast.when they make and sell copies of the resulting kit made from these items, are they not then casting someone elses work even if it has been modified? i am not saying that someone should go out and buy a kit from say modelhaus, and then take it home and make a mold and then start pouring exact copies of the kit and then selling it as their own work, what i am saying is that when a caster either goes out of business and the items are no longer available,or a caster decides that they will discontinue the item with no future plans to re-release it,it then becomes fair game for someone to make copies of for their own use,or so a few of their buddies will have a chance at having the part to use.at least that is my viewpoint.i am growing extremely tired of coming across a particular vehicle,or a version of a vehicle i would like to build, and then going on the net and looking for a kit or a conversion part to build that vehicle only to be continually told "oh,they used to make one of those, but it is now out of production". or contacting the maker of the item, only to be told,"we stopped making that item or keeping it in stock because it didn't sell well"or "the molds wore out".so,the way i see it,if you are able to find the part you need, and find someone willing to cast it,or cast it yourself for your own use,not to sell as your own work, that is what you need to do if you want the part.the 58 plymouth bodies i have from modelhaus were copied pretty much unchanged from an original jo-han promo.even if jo-han is more or less now out of business, was this not a copy of someone elses work?sorry if i offend anyone, just thought i would try to clarify my viewpont of the subject.sure hope someone makes a decent 1958 plymouth sometime soon!! -
AMT '58 Plymouth Belvedere CHRISTINE kit
misternemo replied to cooltoys1's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
if anyone is looking for a 1958 plymouth from modelhaus, don't bother, they were discontinued and are no longer available.(much like a lot of the truly unique aftermarket stuff out there) the closest things available now are the 57 savoy 4 door and 57 wagon, and the 59 plymouth. i have two of the old modelhaus 58 plymouth kits, they were based on the jo-han promo, and are pretty nice but the front end (grille, bumper combo) doesen't fit very well.it appears to be a bit too wide. the body appears to be dead on correct,as does most of the interior.the dash needs some work though.the 1958 plymouth is one of my absolute favorite cars, and i have been a christine fan from day one even though they killed all those beautiful plymouths doing the movie.my plan was to combine the modelhaus kit with the front end and dash from the AMT kit.like a lot of people,i have a stillborn "christine" project based on the AMT kit.just decided to wait until i could get the modelhaus one.still haven't finished it.if any of the casters out there want to copy the plymouth body let me know.maybe someone could even do a 58 4 door and wagon conversion using this kit? -
like many of the people here have said,i tried several times to email him through the website, with a normal email, and on ebay without success.i know,i'm an idiot, but i went ahead and ordered the items i wanted from the website anyway.to my shock, they arrived very quickly, and were of very high quality.do not hesitate to order from bandit resins either on ebay or from the website.you might never get a reply to your emails, but you WILL get a great product.

A Dodge Charger for a chosen few, or lets roll with the CHP.
misternemo replied to Agent G's topic in Model Cars
very,very nice!! and accurate.love it!! -
i have a few earlier (1960s-1970s) chevrolet pickups i have been working on,and have run across a problem, the chevrolet lettering on the tailgate is usually painted white.the lettering is embossed,i have considered masking with bare metal foil and either hand painting it,or spraying it,but that is looking like that will be an extremely tedious way of doing it.i wanted to ask for suggestions on here first.maybe someone has an easy way to do this? thanks for any help.

i can't be of any help in casting one of these, but i CAN be of help to someone with the right trade or trades,i have 5 original jo-han 1963 dodge polara kits, three of these are builders, two are mint in box.i would consider letting two of the builders go for the right trade.these were not cheap when i bought them on ebay,so it would have to be a pretty good trade,or trades.i am currently looking for: an AMT 1971-72 gmc sierra grande pickup, amt 1972 gmc jimmy,or any early issue 1958-1972 chevy or gmc truck kit,MPC commando, jeep dune buggy,or chevy/gmc pickup.i am also looking for gmc conversions/bodies from shawn carpenter, certain modelhaus kits/conversions,(mainly mopar),certain replicas and miniatures items, original issue JO-HAN 1962 dodge dart hardtop,or a reliable resin mustang LX.also looking for a r&d unique air compressor,or any pursuit plastics police decals.there are probably lots of other things i would be interested in as well.let me know if anyone has any interest in these, and what you have to trade.
