  1. The Superbee and the Buick GSX are my faves!
  2. Cool take on the subject! Anything to look out for in that kit?
  3. Quality instead of quantity - way cool builds!!!
  4. That Celica kit has shot to/near the top of the "grail" list... I missed out on an auction for a Celica kit a couple days ago :x It'll be sweet if it is re-issued, then I can build my first 1:1 ride
  5. Sharp looking build - the door "glass" is a nice touch!!
  6. And what was the other kit? I have the Testors 512 kit I got in a trade with a fellow MCM board member. It looks like it'll be a challenging build, but will make a nice stable mate to the Fisher kit. Good luck with yours!!
  7. What a clean build - looks great!!
  8. Both were built some time ago, but they are the first steps to "Corvette Guy" status..lol!! First up is the Accurate Miniatures '64 Grand Sport Coupe. Pretty much OOB except for the shorter side pipes made from aluminum tube, and some plug wires. Color is Duplicolor Ultramarine with Duplicolor Classic white for the stripe, and PPG urethane clear. Now I'd kinda like toget one of the Macleren kits, and I can't wait for the Cobra kit! Next up is the old Monogram '65 Corvette Stingray Coupe. This is the kit that spawned the current issue '66 Penske Corvette. This one os OOB except for plug wires, fuel line, radio antenna, aluminum tube exhaust tips and Goodyears from a newer Revell kit. Paint is Tamiya TS-08 Italian Red, rubbed out with Novus #2 plastic polish.
  9. All of em look great, but that Ferrari 308 is the car for me!!
  10. Thanx for the comments guys!! I tried something new this time out. I made them the same way as I did for the Donohue Cobra, but this time I dressed the tip of the punch with a fine grinding wheel in the Dremel to get it as smooth as I could. I also hit it with the buffing wheel that had a little Novus left on it from polishing the aluminum tube. I gotta admit that I am a bit surprised at the lack of tool marks inside the flares, but I ain't gonna compain :-)
  11. That's gonna be cool!!
  12. Bitchin' Bug!! Great paintwork too!
  13. Beautiful!!
  14. One of these days, I'll learn to leave things as they are, and stop trying to re-invent the wheel. This is not that day. Since this is a curbside kit, it comes with an insert to represent the intake velocity stacks under the rear glass. I decided to make a new insert from a piece of .040" evergreen sheet and some 1/8" aluminum tube, polished and flared with a center punch. Once the insert and surrounding panels are painted, it should look real nice.
  15. All of em are nice, but that black '40 is my fav!!
  16. I have other builds in the case that are perhaps better, or have more work in them, ect, but these two always bring a smile. First up, the '29 Woody. Built from the Rat Rod pickup kit, it sports a scratch built basswood body of my own design, lowered rear spring, plug wires, '32 Ford headlights and cross bar, and a frame spreader bar from the parts box. Paint is Tamiya TS-14 Black, straight out of the can. Not seen in the pics is a custom license plate: TRMTSNK. Next up is my '50 Ford Pickup, built from the Revell kit. This is a model I never intended to keep, since I got it just to rob the ARDUN V-8 from. With the intention of listing on evilbay, I decided that a "promo style" build or a typical 50's color build was too common, so it just had to be primer grey. That led to the idea of shaving all the emblems off, and drilling mounting holes where they would have been, and doing the same for the hood trim. A quick search through the parts box netted a stock flathead V-8, and a set of plain-jane blackwall tires. Once built, it sat on the shelf waiting for me to get a camera, take pics and list it. But something funny happened... it kinda grew on me. Now, it's become one of my favorite builds, and there's no way it'll end up evilbay now :-)
  17. Wicked!!

    STP Turbine

    Way cool build!!
  19. Looks good Mark!!
  20. Sweet!!
  21. Here's some '32 Fords "under glass" in my collection: Three window coupe built from the Revell kit, parts box flatty, Lil Coffin tires and rear wheels, parts box front wheels. Paint is PPG Ford SVT Sonic Blue Pearl with urethane clear, Tamiya TS-46 Lt Sand for the interior, and Alclad II chrome on the wheels: Five window coupe, AMT body on a Revell frame, with the rest from the parts box. Colors are Tamiya TS-14 black, TS-46 Lt Sand, and TS-16 Yellow: And last, a sedan built from the Revell Speedwagon kit and a Perry's Resin body. Used the intake and carburator from the 3 window kit valve covers and air cleaner from a Monogram '65 Shelby Mustang, wheels from the Monogram '40 pickup with parts box knock-offs. Colors are Tamiya TS-41 Coral Blue, TS-09 British Green, and Krylon Pewter Grey for the interior. Hope y'all dig em!
  22. Thanx! It's a Fisher Model & Pattern kit, and comes with a photo-etched fret and a set of vac-formed clear parts. http://fishermodels.com/
  23. Lower. It needs to be lower...
  24. Easy there, Andy. Still trying to get my muse back, don't want all the fuss to scare it away again 8)
