  1. Thanks for looking and the nice commments. I know that I could improve the look of the decals with the various decal finishing tools and products out there but on certain car models I am going for a certain look and effect so some of the decal work may not be as tidy as they are supposed to be on a regular car model. Anyway, again, thanks for looking, DJ

  11. Here is a model I got done with last night. It is called Dirty and is a 1969 Hurst Olds from AMT. I kept the rear-view mirror, side mirrors, and rear spoiler off, I liked how the car looked without them. Paint is Krylon Expresso and lots of pastels to give it the well used grimy look. The inside is just as dirty but in a different way. Stained tan leather and all that, with an outside that's nasty got to have an inside nasty as well. The dashboard dials I filled with Krystal Clear and when they were half dried I poked and messed with them so they would appear to have broken glass. Thanks for looking, DJ

  18. I get an idea and I run with it. I don't worry about what cars are "supposed" to have or not have. It is fun and relaxing to let the imagination run wild. Not everyone's cup of tea, of course, but that is ok. We all have fun in our own way with our own models. Who is to say what is good or bad for one person. It's about the adventure and the ride. Vehicles need to be like this in real life if you ask me. Thanks for the comments and for looking. It's great that people take part of their time and look at my posts and comment on them. I really appreciate it and thank goodness that there are forums like this where we all can share our models. Keep modelling, DJ
  19. Thanks for looking and the comments. When I was a kid models were all about getting it to look like this car or that as in real life. Now that I'm 42 I like to use my imagination and have fun. I don't worry about accuracy or if this car is supposed to have this or that. It's all about the fun and the adventure with whatever kick I happen to be on at the time. Thanks for looking, DJ

  21. Sometimes I cut the decals and sometimes I don't. Just matters what mood I'm in and what look I want for the model I am working on at the time. Thanks for looking, DJ

  25. All of the trinkets and doodads I use on my models are from Hobby Lobby and Michaels in their beads and charms department. Lots of crazy things to use for models when my crazy brain starts to get active. They are cheap and always go on sale with thirty to fifty percent off. They are great for adding that certain something to a car model. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for looking, DJ
