  1. Great stuff! Id be lying if i didnt say i was curious about how you did that chop!
  2. Sweet, its got a cool look goin' on!
  3. On my first model car engine I didnt have any glue, I MELTED the manifold to the block I tried using WOOL for ignition wires, AND IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! If the level f fun were the determining factor in building a model that one would be my winner Cool-looking model, Id love to see more!
  4. Thanks guys Yup, theyre the vistas from that kit, my most favorite wheels ever! I had a camaro that came with them if im remembering correctly, but I lost them a long time ago, theyre brilliant wheels, much better than the camaro ones
  5. Id say rack and pinion mate Most cars that I know of in Australia that have huge front wheels have them a bit more inset with the inner guards cut away. Yeah zac, got the front all glued up I rekon it looks okay, with the sidewindow line that slumps back at regular stance
  6. Yay for progress!, while I was sleeping my van turned into an Oldsmobile! The best kit I have ever had the privilege of messing about with, going with curbside so I can use the engine and stuff on other projects, maybe a hotrod, the engine is far too wonderful to hide away. Thinking between dark green or fluro orange, those would clash nicely with the chrome I rekon. Blame Dr Cranky and all those awesome model builders featured in his book for this project-jumping Iv been doing
  7. Just having fun shaping up the chassy found a front axle to use!!! Still have a HEAP of adding material to the chassy and shaping it...
  8. "http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=239121&showall=1 " Just the photo reference I needed! Also, none of my builds would work in 1:1, theyre all plastic! lol Making silly stuff that wouldnt work in fullscale is half the fun I rekon Thanks mate Wouldnt happen to have any piccies of your 1:1 would you? specifically inner doorskins and the body without an interior??
  9. You know what? I rekon I will give it a try, just to say Ive done it Thanks man! Z'd up front gotta chop it up a bit more stance is a little off I just noticed on this mockup, I really need to do something so the body mounts the same way each time
  10. One of those miniature people, I forget what theyre called... I think I'll need to buy a few 'diversion die-casts' to put around the place, some awful Jada-Toys ones will keep the small ones occupied!
  11. Thanks guys!, I found this the other day... on the floor... in pieces Im hoping it'll still be useable for a rebuild!
  12. VERY nice there! But I think thats a bit out of my skill-level aye, I was thinking an all-out scuiside front end... Can I have a link to that topic though? Id very much like to see that one Sweet! There's so much you can do with these 'base ' kits aye! Thanks to the rest of you guys! :D Comments like those keep me goin' Here's my start on the engine (from a 36 Ford coupe)... It was the wierdest distributer I have EVER seen, Iv seen the crab/scallop type ones, but never this sort, its like a dome on each side of the front-end of the engine :S You can really get a sense of scale when theres an engine in it, that and the markings on my cutting mat Has anyone else done this kit and used the Lincoln V8 that it comes with? Its horrible! It would have been such a nice setup if it werent so... bad.
  13. Still thinking of ideas
  14. Sorry guys, should have specified it will have 4 wheels, I just lazily only mocked it up to be viewed from the one side, Itll be symetrical. My bad, havent had enough sugar today 8)
  15. The vans giving me the poopies, still trying to get the front end 'right'. So I pulled this out and just started hacking at it... The inspiration is a scratch-built trike/chopper I saw in the scratchbuilding thread a while ago... Going for a deco-steampunky look, its TINY compared to the van, which is just what I need I rekon.
  16. Fantastic mixture of styles! Love the look of it! and LOVE the stickerbombed windows!
  17. A new Hemi aye? Like the one from the Challenger kit I have?
  18. Brilliant!!! Old Skool is best Skool! Iv been going through my mountain of old parts looking for something with a bit or 60s grill heritage too
  19. Thats some really clean scratchbuilding, it looks awesome so far.... Why cant I do stuff like that?!?!?! Looking forward to more progress!
  20. Jeffrey: Thanks The next one I do will hopefully be a TPB 32 5-window with big'n'little whitewalls. Lazlo: Yeah, that was my first conversion... it left a little bit to be desired lol Thanks Ray: Ta mate, yeah I thought I smelled another Aussie
  21. Allrighto, a little progress... Not much, but Im getting there. Resized and reshaped the front arches, awaiting putty. Cut out a shape for the front pan that Im gunna make later. The front end was giving my the grumps, so I decided to so something completely unnecessary Then after about half an hour of staring into space I started making an intake for a new mustang motor and got this far Kind of a sporadic night of building for me
  22. Yeeees! Awesome stuff! That sure is a long van aye, great choice of wheels, gotta love the classic whitewalls Looking forward to more progress!
  23. Marshall: Thanks man! 8) Richard: Awesome, Ill be looking out for it! And nope, not much done to this one as of late, still thinking of shapes and position i can have the front wheel-arches in. Stocking up on supplies like masking tape and stuff like that too
