Nissan 240SX/Silvia S13 "Midnight Purple"

Thanks for looking, all comments appreciated! -
First model of 2013. The intended colour was to be Midnight Purple, and then the automotive store got the colour wrong, so I'll be nicknaming it Midnight Purple as in in-joke to myself to remind me to never go there again. Anyway, I lowered it slightly at front and gave it a bit of camber and left the rear stock (not to everyone's taste, personally I like it) and made a few small bits for the interior to spice it up, an iPod and an iPhone. (This is the only recent pic I have of the interior, sorry it's so small) Outdoor pics in next post!

Thanks guys... The colour has grown on me, a LITTLE. Still so disappointed it's not Midnight Purple though. I finished it there now. The outdoor pics tomorrow will really do it justice though! Thanks for looking. The side markers have been fixed since those pics were taken

Oh man, great stuff! Now give us that Capri (and a reissue of your Cosworths would be swell) and I'll be a very happy man. -
@Brandon: Nah I just left it as it is. It turned ever-so-slightly more purple after lacquering. I decided sod it, I got a good smooth finish off it so I left it the weird colour. Midnight Purple, it is NOT. Last time I ever go there anyway.

Cheers! And no thanks haha, I'm happy enough with my iPod classic and iPhone tag team. Sprayed the body today. It was NOT Midnight Purple. It was a weird silvery grey. Not cool. Some stern words with the automotive store will be had. I don't know whether to leave it the silvery colour or try something else.

Love those exhausts! Keep it up -
Did a bit of work on this. Primed it today, did some work on the interior. Made an iPod and a lead for it to the radio. Tomorrow, black base coat. Cheers!

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a Ferrari 512 TR kit. The only two I can see are the Revell, and the Fujimi. Does anyone have any opinions on which is the better kit, and detail/build quality? Cheers!
-
Cheers lads! And cheers Tom, yeah it's only been a year, but I owe it all to things I've found on the internet. I probably still wouldn't be spray painting if it weren't for it!

Wrap at the start of the link (with no space) and at the end of the link (again no space) should work -
Thank everyone I have a question to ask. This purple paint, I sprayed it and it looks rather.. bright. Too bright. I'll be using grey primer.. but will I need to maybe have a black base coat? This is the look I'm going for: Thanks

Finished this mid last year, was my first work with Matte black. I didn't have any decal softener at the time, had no idea what it was so you can still see some film around the decals, matte paint'll do that to ya. Cheers!

This was my second model, my first time spray painting. The paint didn't come out too good... hence the woeful attempt at weathering I finished this around early last year. Don't rate it too poorly, I was only learning lol! Cheers!

Thanks everyone, really appreciate it! And wow, I dread to see your workspaces, I'm a tad OCD Outdoor shots:

Been meaning to buy this kit, that's gorgeously done!

Thanks all! Who woulda thought a love for older music would get me so much respect too, eh? -
This is a lovely wee kit, you took a very different approach than I did! I'd love to remake it. Might have to pick one up sometime. Paintwork looks fab! ...Have to agree with Harry, too.

Shinryaku Ika. Fujimi Ferrari F430 Itasha build

That's perhaps the craziest scheme I've ever seen. Were those decals a nightmare? Great job! -
This was my first time weathering with an airbrush. Wanted it to look like it had been driving out in the rain for ages. You can barely even notice it without looking at the windows.. oh well. Was only my first time anyway, there's a lesson in every kit! Was lowered slightly at the front, the interior was stripped out with a racing bucket seat installed and grey carpets. Can't really see it unfortunately. Outdoor pics tomorrow maybe. Any advice on how to realistically achieve the effect I was going for? Comments and criticisms appreciated, thanks everyone! - Tomo

This was my first time venturing into 1/25. I had put it off forever, since all my others are 1/24 and I wanted them to match. But I bit the bullet anyway, and the difference is minuscule really. This definitely ain't the greatest but hey, first for everything. First time doing bare metal foil window trims too.. I normally freehand paint them. Don't have any outdoor photos, it's gone midnight haha. Maybe tomorrow. My work desk really needs a tidy too. Gonna post another build I did, a Mugen CRX and then that'll do for tonight. Comments and criticisms appreciated, cheers! - Tomo
