Is that what they call them? Really? Gee willikers.
What's the point? I don't get it. I kinda like my cars to actually accelerate, stop, and handle WELL...which none of these are capable of.

Art,
Many WalMarts are carrying a steady inventory of kits, but they are all (?) Revell, heavy on snap kits, and all new issues aimed at youth market interests [monster trucks, Camaros, Mustangs, pickups, Foose, StarWars, and Pirates of the Carribean (!) etc.]. No focus on hot rods, drag cars, or specialty kits. The good news is that they've stocked model kits for a year now.
The model car shelf space at my local store is now shared (one level) with Estes rockets. At Christmas last year the model kits had twice as much shelf space; they haven't fully stocked for this upcoming Christmas, so it will be interesting to see the apportionment this time around.
I was talking with my local toy department manager about the varieties of th
e kits they sell a lot of what they sell here is oold reissues none of the newer ones and she told me she puts int the order but the manufactor sends what it wants she no has control of the kits they sell there is only so many times you wanna build a chrysler 300 or a dodge charger (newer version)

Retired from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department as a Sergeant (28 years total), moved west and began a new career.
I am currently an enforcement agent of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. I investigate crimes that take place in casinos. My specialty, if it can be called that, is computer fraud and embezzlement.

I'm on the younger side of the members here and I was raised and taught how to work on the older cars. And I personally would rather work and own older cars. I was told once my a certified technician that cars after like 06-07 are suppose be fitted with a little box that can tell authoritys what was going on 30 seconds before a crash. Nowdays we have cars that can park themselves and that don't take a key so its possible.

Just one caution to all of you. Be careful posting photos taken from cell phones on the web. I saw a news segment several months ago about bad guys being able to find the location of cell phone photos. Apparently the GPS location is stored as part of the data of the photo. Now, not that we would have a thief on this or any other site and who would want to steal a bunch of plastic, but I see a number of photos that show really nice tools in a work shop that are theft targets. Use a digital camera and you don't get the same problem. I had my shop broken into years ago and some of my models, RC stuff and tools stolen. It wasn't the dollar amount that bothered me because the insurance covered that. It was that someone got some of the tools I had from my father and some of my prize winning models taken. Stuff you just can't replace.
Thats when the guard dog and the bretta come into play ;-)
