I bought a 61 impala kit last month and decided to work on it and messed up the body beyond repair... No receipt, I went to the store I bought it from and was able to replace it with a kit of the same price... So I bought a Revell Monogram Plymouth Roadrunner....
First thing I did was put the hood filler on and fill it in with glue and kicker... Next I stripped the chrome from most of the engine parts and wheels...
Using some Goodyear tires from a 69 Olds kit, I had to trim the wheels to fit flush and the wheel backs had to be trimmed down to fit... Engine is started and the front suspension has been glued in... I'm wanting to build this as a weathered restoration in progress build...
Here is where I am at so far...
Well, I haven't dropped it yet... Just a mockup, but it's a promo chassis, so I can just drill out holes higher up to sit the car on the ground once the rims are mounted in the new holes... Thanks guys for the comps
Thanks guys...
Alan, I had to remove the hood bulge, spoiler was shaved which involved describing the trunk line, and the front lower portion had to be trimmed...
Thanks guys... I am not thrilled with the fact that these old Revell kits don't come with detailed interiors such as door panels... So, I will be making some panels and a sub enclosure for it...
