  1. hi pete, thanks for your comments,...chassis is just box stock with some paint details.....first one i've ever built , but like the result. regards, a.c.
  2. hi bill, thanks for the comments...i also posted another vette yesterday,...a 64 sport/prod class car from the 60's...you may enjoy it as well. regards, a.c.
  3. hi jon, thanks for the comments.....i sprayed it with testors laquer # 1831mca-fiery orange. i didn't use clearcote , just let it dry for a day, then applied the decals, and polished it lightly with some detailer spray wax. its the first time i used this type of testors paint,...nice result, clean, good shine, covers well. the tamiya sprays are the best , jon, even better than testors.
  4. hi again roger, no, these wheels are from an original annual amt 64 corvette ht,...a custom wheel they say,...but similar to some eelco, fenton, and e/t type of the era. i grabbed them for this vette, as i am building the other currently as a team car for this one,...different s/p class, reversed paint colors...i'll post it when complete. regards, a.c.
  5. hi roger, thanks for the comments...yes, those tires and wheels are in the kit,...the textured area in the wheel centers are painted with humbrol metal cote aluminum hand paint. regards, a.c.
  6. hi alan, thanks to you and everyone for your kind and encouraging comments. as for the decals in this kit,...they are a bit tricky to use, but making sure they sit on the backing paper for 2-3 minutes,..as well as having the area of the body nice and wet, ya should be ok. i have read several complaints re. the newer amt decals that some builders find them tough to use. i found the key is the wetter the better, as once in position its difficult to slide them around, as they are thin. i've also found that decal solvents don't seem to have any real affect on them. so, make certain all your air bubbles and such are worked out and pressed into place even more than you usually do....the quality is there but patience and precision is the key here. hope this helps...if you build one, please post pics,..i'd love to see it as well. regards and thanks, a.c.
  7. hi again......i posted photos of 3 other drag car builds on this site today as well,,,,altered w/b falcon, sock it to me 62 vette, and a 64 vette cv....check 'em out too. thanks, a.c.
  8. hi andy,...thanks for your question. yes, they are the injectors from the kit. as you know, they are attached to the trees in a way that can make it a bit difficult to remove them without damage. i used a new xacto no. 11 blade, and once removed used some bare metal foil to encircle the bell - tipped top area. then painted them using clear red tamiya spray. i think its just a little time and patience to making them look decent, unless buying spun aluminum ones is your choice. they are nicer, for sure, but they are a bit expensive . hope this helps. a.c.
  9. hello everyone, thought maybe some of you may like to see the newly released amt sock it to me vette built....and built quickly. two weeks made this a fast but fun project. also included in the photos are pics of the katch the kat metallic orange 1 in 12 kits s.e. version i was lucky enough to score when i bought 3 of these kits. thought maybe some folks may enjoy seeing one, if they have not grabbed one yet. any comments or questions are certainly welcome. thanks for looking. a.c. the ace.
  10. hello,. my first time posting photos or info on a model site...seems fun, i should say. anyhow, this amt 64 vette is the prestige series 63 kit...but i had an original 64 hood lying around, so i used it instead. built as a mid to late 60's sports production class piece, i wired the ignition with black stock wiring,..that the photos may not show so well....and other than a few goodies, its fairly box stock. oh, the 2 tone is tamiya pure white and brilliant orange spray,...with tamiya gloss pearl coat . decals are old mix of bits and pieces from my stash,..and i guess thats it. any questios or comments are most welcome . enjoy, regards, a.c. the ace.
  11. hello everyone, new to your site,..looks like it will be lots of fun. anyhow, i have just started building again after about a ten year period. i have posted 4 cars here in the last hour or so, that i have built in the last few months,...and one finished just on the weekend. this is the model king awb falcon, built box stock with a little engine wiring, and some decals from my stash. paint is tamiya bright red spray, with tamiya gloss pearl coat ...the photos don't show the pearl as well as i'd hoped...it really does look neat. any comments are welcomed by all. thanks, a.c. the ace.
  12. hello everybody, well, this model is the very first piece i have built in almost 10 years. i bought this and a couple of others from my old and dear friend, dave burkit the model king about a year ago. finished it in august 2012, and then on to the next. i must admit, there isn't much to say here, as for other than basic ignition wiring, and some old blue micro scale stripe decals that i've had around for ever, its a box stock build. paint is tamiya yellow,..no clearcote...some polish after it dried,...but thats it. if you have any comments, they are certainly welcome. regards, a.c. the ace.
