really neat idea for a drag piece....i like it, looks so of the era. headers from a 66 thru 69 amt falcon should fit,...even the mod. stocker re-issue has those. good luck, regards, a.c.

hello and thanks both bill and alan for your kind comments. to answer alans question re. wheels on this piece, they are from an original annual 64 amt vette coupe, that i am presently building as a team car to accompany this one. they are considered a custom wheel , but are similar to that of some eelco, fentons and e/t wheels of that 64- 70 era. they are painted a humbrol mix of metals in the dark areas, and humbrol metal cote aluminun on the spokes. i'm working on some cars, alan, and when completed i will post pics of them. thanks again, email anytime, regards, alf.

hi jason, like the idea of your own build idea....not sure if i would use k.s. pittman decals, being that there are so many great choices out there. that inca gold color is very nice, a local builder sprayed a 40 ford sedan using it, and it is a neat color for an of the era gasser. looking forward to your completed project. best of luck, regards, a.c.

hi john from a.c. in canada....your Z car looks neat,...silver paints are tough to work with and your piece is a nice factory example. i've built this kit a couple of times way back, and your car came out far nicer than mine did..keep up the good builds. regards,a.c.

hi john and niko, thanks to both of you for your kind remarks. to answer niko's question, yes, those stacks are the 8 supplied in the kit. another member asked the same question as i have 4 builts on the UNDER GLASS section as well, and he said his were not so great in his mib kit. i probably have a good half hour or so in each one, to repair the bell tops, using zap , and then BMF to repair the edges. the clear red tamiya spray give that 60's gasser look, as well. regards, happy to answer qu. on any of my posted builds. a.c.

hello,. my first time posting photos or info on a model site...seems fun, i should say. anyhow, this amt 64 vette is the prestige series 63 kit...but i had an original 64 hood lying around, so i used it instead. built as a mid to late 60's sports production class piece, i wired the ignition with black stock wiring,..that the photos may not show so well....and other than a few goodies, its fairly box stock. oh, the 2 tone is tamiya pure white and brilliant orange spray,...with tamiya gloss pearl coat . decals are old mix of bits and pieces from my stash,..and i guess thats it. any questios or comments are most welcome . enjoy, regards, a.c. the ace.

hello everybody, well, this model is the very first piece i have built in almost 10 years. i bought this and a couple of others from my old and dear friend, dave burkit the model king about a year ago. finished it in august 2012, and then on to the next. i must admit, there isn't much to say here, as for other than basic ignition wiring, and some old blue micro scale stripe decals that i've had around for ever, its a box stock build. paint is tamiya yellow,..no clearcote...some polish after it dried,...but thats it. if you have any comments, they are certainly welcome. regards, a.c. the ace.

hi there from ontario, canada.....enjoyed reading these comments re. gremlin x classes for nhra stock/super stock. i to am going to start this kit soon,...and maybe this will help a bit. i bought a new 73 gremlin x 304 in june 73. my first car, loved it then, still wish i had it. anyhow, i ran it thru the 74 season with some mods like headers, g60 pro trac tires, accel ignition , lakewood bars, tach, etc. at that time street guys like myself could run - STOCK FOR TROPHY- class, as we were not competitive in the money lanes. early spring 74 i fell into L/S stick. by early summer they moved me up to K/S . these little cars were a struggle to make competitive in a sea of killer sbc cars, but we had fun and sometimes went 2 or 3 rounds in spite of it all. also, a guy from the toronto area back in 73-74 era had a trailered one that had been to BOOTH ARONS in detroit for work,...his ran SS/OA- super stock o automatic. a purple w/ gold stripes gemlin x that ran 13.30s in legal trim, 13.00s with an illegal 500cfm holley 2 barrel. he too struggled in a sea of chevys that all ran 3 and 4 tenths quicker always. hope all of this helps, happy building everyone. regards, a.c.

hi alan,..thanks for your kind comments. this one is sprayed with tamiya bright red, then tamiya gloss pearl coat over top. the pics don't show the color as well as it looks in person....that tamiya pearl coat is neat...gives it that 60's killer fleck appearance. regards, a.c.
