well did a little bit more,I finished all the little details on the dashboard just need to glue on the rpm tachometer on the center. I also painted the springs red .I also found the wheels I'll be using i already stripped the chrome off, now to choose a color/s.

Most of those parts came chrome plated but i stripped the chrome off and sprayed it with alclad chrome, its the best chrome you can spray in my opinion. Thank's

Well I decided to paint the NOS tanks blue instead of champagne to match the interior, now to let it dry a couple of weeks before I bmf the brackets and apply the decals because the only blue I had was enamel. But thats it for painting on this one .Everything that had to be painted is painted , now all that is left is for little detail painting here and there and start gluing things where they go .Hopefully I wont mess anything up now.

Well i two tone the amps and glued them in place and also painted all the remaining engine parts. (just got to wait for those to dry) After stripping the chrome of the NOS tanks gluing them together and putting a bit of putty on the seams they are almost ready to paint I just dont know if to paint them blue or paint them champagne just like the box. (any suggestions on the color?) Alright now for the pics.

Hi! very small update, finished the interior box by painting the speakers also painted and glued the rollcage and painted a little on the chassis. I just need to paint the NOS tanks and the second color on the amps and the interior will be done. Hopefully I'll have a couple of hours this week to get those parts done.

Well another small update I started buffing all the parts I painted and so far its gone pretty smooth. I guess i'll know how smooth it went in a couple of days , thats how long it took for the paint last time for the problems to pop out, hopefully history wont repeat itself with this one I finally feel like really finishing something so I could get the ball rolling again. Alright now for the pics. before polish and after and no those are not the wheels i'll be using I still dont have a clue on the wheels im using. I know it looks silver but reall it's gold!

ALRIGHT GOT SOME PAINT ON IT LAST NIGHT , I WENT A DIFFERENT ROUTE THIS TIME INSTEAD OF USING THE AIRBRUSH TO APPLY THE PAINT I SPRAYED IT STRAIGHT FROM THE CAN (2 MIST COATS AND 1 WET ONE) THEN APLLIED THE CLEAR COAT WITH THE AIRBRUSH RIGHT AFTER. NEXT I'LL START THE POLISHING PROCESS TOMORROW. the pics are a bit dark but you get the idea. Thanks for looking!

Well here we go again round 2 After painting clear coating and polishing the body 2 days later I noticed everything was ruined. Long story short the clear looked like shattered glass,(here is the link if you want to see what I mean) http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry138859 ofcourse I wasnt happy and tried to fix it, but I couldn't so I trew it in good old brake fluid and didn't continue with anything else on it . A week ago a decided to try again and after stripping the paint off I cleaned it really good and applied some high build primer, ddid some minor body work on it and rescribed all the door lines ect. Next step I wetsanded everything with 1200 grit and after I was satisfied with the way it looked I cleaned it again and sprayed the primer sealer and rescribed the body lines again. This is where Im at now. Next the paint , I bought a new can of the same paint because I dont want to change the interior colors being that I already painted some parts. Tonight I will apply the paint for the second time and also clear it (wish me luck) Ill have some more updates soon. Thanks for looking!

Thanks again Dave I really apreciate all the tips and answers you have given me.
-
I really apreciate it Dave. Now about the clear plasti-kote lacquer do you know if that is compatible with Duplicolor lacquer paints?
-
Thank's I tought that with the first kit it happened to so I went and bought more clear before I started on the second one I had a problem with just in case that was the problem (getting a bad batch ) But on Duplicolor changing something in their formula due to the epa regulations you may be right . Thank you all for taking the time to look at this and giving me feedback. I will be trying the wet on wet aproach on my next one! And if that don't work I guess i'll be changing the brand of products I use.

Hi i have a dilema I know every now and then at one point or another when building model cars you come across a problem you have never seen before, specially with the painting process.I have been building models for a while now and the last 3 kits I have painted I have come across into the same problem, now before I mention my problem I have been using the same techniche for over 8 years the same brand of primer paint and clear witch is Duplicolor. I have been using the same airbrush, the same air pressure ,and yes I have a water trap on my airbrush air line and never had a problem with my paintjobs till mid this year. My problem seems to be in the clear but not while spraying it on or after the drying process, but after the polishing process. I always use primer sealer on my car let it dry for a couple of days then spray the base coat, then let that dry anywhere from 4 to 7 days (by the way is all duplicolor laquer paints) then spray the clear on let it dry for atleast one or two weeks, then I polish it.The polish I use is Meguiars scratch x fine scratch and swirl remover. And like I said I have been using the same process for many years and after I finish my models I put them in diplaying cases and never touch them again. Except for the last 3 models I painted when I look at my other models meaning my older ones witch I painted using the same process look as good as the day I finished them.Ok my problem is not fish eyes or crows feet or the usual problems that you mostly see on the clear .I noticed on all 3 models the imperfections seem to pop up 2 to 3 days after the car has been polished and the only way I can explain it, is that the clear looks like shatered glass, is stiil a perfect shine and if you touch it is extremely smooth but it looks like there is shatered glass under the clear. Please help! I'll try anything im getting to the point where im not starting anything else because Im afraid of having to strip more paint jobs. Thank you! here is a couple of pics so you get a visual.
