  1. I was really surprised to run across the Freightliner truck kit at Hobby Lobby. First time seeing one there. I have been looking for one cheap for a little while to go with the Revell auto hauler trailer build that I have planned.
  2. I have a 2005 Focus wagon with the 5 speed manual. It has been a pretty good car so far. I have 180k miles on it and hope to put quite a bit more on it.
  3. This year I wanted to actually complete my car for the build. I chose the 1960 Ford Starliner mainly because I really the rear fins. I went for a different approach than most people by going going with a large comfortable cruiser. Basically it is what I might chose if I was alive in 1975 and was old enough to race in the Cannonball Run.
  4. Yeah, I was going for the super comfortable ride strategy.
  5. I'm going to call my car done. It has been for at least a week but I wanted to be able to take nice pictures before posting it.
  6. I made some progress on the foil work. I still have some more to tidy up and correct some tears. Unfortunately I had a couple of bits of paint pull up but hopefully I can touch up the paint well enough that it doesn’t show up much.
  7. I have been slowly making progress. Next up is learning how to do bare metal foil.
  8. I am going to build a 60 Ford Starliner. Hopefully if I start in January, I will get it finished before the deadline.
  9. Unfortunately, I'm not going to finish in time. The weather hasn't been cooperating with getting a decent paint job. I will finish the car and put it in a separate build thread.
  10. I made some progress from last weekend. I cut out the trunk lid and made an inner structure for the lid. I also got a start on modifying the 91 Corvette ZR1 suspension and engine to fit the chassis. I still need to finish that and make a new fuel cell for back of the car.
  11. Awesome. I should be able to post some update photos later this week of the modernized suspension.
  12. That’s some cool details.
  13. Quick question on keeping within the rules. I picked up a 93 Corvette ZR1 kit was thinking about doing a drivetrain and suspension swap for my 55 Chevy Bel Air. I know that on the real car that the rear isn’t too complicated just brackets added but the front requires redoing the front frame rails to get a compatible front crossmember to fit. Does this conversion still fit within the rules?
  14. I want to join this build. I'm going to go with a 55 Chevy Bel Air. For the engine, I'm believe I'm going to use a 327 out of the 63 Corvette kit.
