  1. Today I went over the new Hoover Dam, bypass bridge, well it's a few years old now. I stopped by the Dam hotel to look at Lake Mead. It's in a sad state. It's down a good 30 feet! I remember as a kid going on family vacations there and the lake never looked like this. I hope this winter will yield a significant amount of rain fall. The "experts" are predicting a record El Nino cycle. Prey, cross fingers, hold your tongue just right, only turn to the left or whatever you do, for us to get some rain. Here are a few pics taken today. This pic the arrows show where the was and where it is today.
  2. I couldn't find the thread where this was being discussed. So I'll put it here. I stopped in Nothing, Az today. It is, near as I can tell, abandoned. I'm sure the 4 residents are long gone, a long time ago.
  3. EORKS On My phone. I'm glad to see Jamie casting again.
  4. Yeah. There's a bunch of cool stuff on there. Is Moluminum Jamie or is it someone else?

  8. Out here in So Cal, we have an annual truck show and drags. It's called Truckin for kids. I've been attending this show for 20 years. Just youtube truckin for kids, all sorts of cool truck show, highway and drag truck related stuff.
  9. Thanks. I did a few changes to it. Revell pete stacks and bumper. AMT Pete fuel tank cut down for the hydraulic tank and 8v71 under the hood. AMT Freightliner DD rims and tires. Moebius mudflaps. I used the Pete intake tube, cut it, rotated it 180 and it worked perfect.
  10. These old dogs don't look right with dual stacks. Unless you do your damnedest to peterize them, like I did.
  11. Cool old school trucks. I really like the tall single stacks.
  12. Here's the address for the show. Inside the Ontario Senior Center 225 E. B street, Ontario, Ca 10 am to 2 pm
  13. Welcome to the forum. Good to see another So Cal builder. I too live in this So Cal desert, Victorville. Maybe someday I'll see ya at Ground Control or at show coming up. The next show is Sep 19 in Ontario. Look for Route 66 Cruisin Reunion car show, Ontario Ca.
  14. I was wondering about them. I Googled Plaskit and couldn't find anything current. 4 years was newest on the truck side.
  15. Can anyone list current big truck aftermarket companies. I know of a few, but just curious if more are out there. P&P AITM Auslowe KFS Rhino's GW Wallace Bill Drennen Double Take I know there are individual casters as well. What is missing from what I listed?
  16. A month away. How's it lookin as far as vendors go?
  17. Awesome build. You did a very good job. I like it man!
  18. Ok, I went and reread wikipedia. It says it's based off of ballads from the 18th centuey. The earliest known recording of the song is 1934. I read the info wrong. But still. It was recorded before the animals did it. It is unknown who actually wrote it.
  19. House of the Rising Sun. According to Wikipedia, this song has been covered, in some form or another, since the 18th century. The origin of the song is unknown. So, would this be considered the song that has been covered, the longest?
  20. I'm gonna do my best to at least walk around.
  21. Saw this little hot rod, a 32 Vicky.
  22. I hope the motivational bug bites soon. I still have a lot to do.
  23. Way too many good times, with long stories. A few would be the time I made a "cool guy" look bad with his girlfriend in his little rice rocket when he tried to street race me in my Camaro. Or idling through the grocery store parking lot setting off car alarms, really like that. Or rollin down the street about 45 and slap the shifter into 2nd, light tires up, scare the cr@p out of the kids walking on the shoulder. But my favorite would have to be the first trip down the dragster in my car. I remember it perfectly, I cut a terrible light, dead pedal off the line, no slicks, smoked the tires to about 330, then it hooked and ran 13.10 at 94 mph. Then started getting better, slicks were bought, a bigger motor installed, went from a 325 horse, 327, to a 550 horse 406. Last time I ran it, it went 11.48 at 112 mph. Now, in the big truck. Besides the short skirts and shorty shorts in the summer from my "elevated" view. It would have to be the night I scared a group of high schoolers, about 12 of them. They were crossing the highway, in the dark, no street lights. I got along side of them and laid on my train horns. Half went runnin, the other half hit the deck. That was good moment.
  24. It's too bad all those details like that, the internals of parts, will not be seen. It's a shame with the motor for the same reason, piston rings! And they will not be seen.
