  1. Cool project, looking good so far....
  2. Built this one back in April 2013. It's an AMT pre-painted kit so only very little detailing was needed. Most of which was done with different colored Sharpie markers and some BMF. I added the surf board rack because none was provided in the kit. This was a fun kit to build though. A little explanation of the last picture; I'm always looking around the house t pop-in a model among the wife's knick-knacks. And I do have them just about everywhere to her dismay!.........LOL She has our master bathroom decorated with sea-shore/marine stuff. So there was a shelf just begging for something & this Woody fit the need. Kind 'a turned out to sort of a diorama. So now when a "male" takes a wiz they'll have a car to look at instead of only sea-shells!!! Thanks for looking...........
  3. Fantastic work & the detailing is out of this world.......I love it. The dio shots are great idea!
  4. Built this a few months back & took a few months. I tried to replicate Shirley Shahan's super stock WO23 Coronet as close as I could. A lot of research but not a lot of info on this car. Painted with Model Master classic white, then polished to a shine. I used a Model Car Garage Coronet photo etched kit along with some scratch made details. The engine was wired and plumbed with painted details in the engine bay. the four speed tranny was removed & replaced with a 727 automatic tranny. The front suspension was raised slightly to get the right stance. The blue strips didn't fit around the wheel wells very well at all and I didn't like how the clear decal showed up around the window numbers. Rick
  5. Really awesome build, the paint is flat out beautiful!
  6. Thank you very much everyone!!! mikemopar70, I tried to scratch build the valve covers & air cleaner, gave up & decided to make decals instead.
  7. Hello Jonathan, welcome to MCM forum.
  8. Thank you all very much! Lee, yes it is. I had to alter the gt/gss rear panel in the kit to have just the thin, center strip with Dodge on it. The 1-1 was originally a slant six with the creamy yellow color. Rebuilt to this by the original owner's son in 1998.
  9. Hi Mike, welcome to MCM forum.
  10. Thanks guys. Dan, I posted my build of my '68 Dart.
  11. Fabulous build, all the detailing work is wonderful.
  12. Beautiful "led-sled", nicely done. Looks just like what was driven on the streets back in the day!
  13. This is my Dart replica I finished about a year ago, took about a year off & on to build. Yep, I'm a slower builder.............LOL I used as much detail I could to resemble my 1-1 Dart. The paint is dupli-color poppy red lacquer as on the 1-1 and a vinyl roof from model car garage. I used a Mr. Norm's kit which is a "GT/GSS" version, so had to do some scratch building & alterations to make it a "270" trim version. Has a Ross Gibson 340 detailed to replicate my 318c.i. motor. I used numerous photo etched parts for details, completely wired, plumbed and detailed the motor & engine bay area. Scratch built the headers & exhaust from .062" solder. Added fuel and brake lines from front to rear. Scratch built the front bench seat and covered both with real leather. Reworked entire interior to match the 1-1 including floor mats. Thanks Rick
  14. Hi all, Rick here. Been building models off & on for a long time now. I do mostly cars, loving all makes of muscle cars. I really enjoy drag racing, but will watch any type of racing. Besides building models, in my spare time I also build radio controlled cars/trucks, keeping up with the wife's to-do-list, and driving & working on my 1968 Dodge Dart 270. Looks like a lot of cool stuff around here. I'm looking forward to learning new tricks, sharing some of my own tips and just talking about models. I'll post some of my builds shortly.....Thanks!
