  4. Outstanding work and detail Yuri.
  5. Thanks guys for all the nice comments. I was pretty pleased with how this build turned out, even though at times it game me some struggles. I am in the process of planning out a couple of more builds and I hope to start a new buid thread soon.
  6. Thanks for the hinge info Jonathan, I'll note it for the future. Great gob on the wheels by the way. I like your color choice to. Looking forward to watching your build as you go along with it.
  7. LMAO You had me and my wife laughing in stiches with that one. The closest thing I got to a Chevelle in the stash at the moment, is a Camino. I know, I know, I need to build up the inventory. Give me time. Well you sure had me fooled
  8. Thanks alot guys for the warm coments and for following along. Stay tuned for the next build. Hope it get started on something in a few days.
  9. Thanks Joe, yup 12 pages of long sleepless evenings. LOL
  10. Thanks everyone, for all the kind coments. I hope to get started on a new build soon. Been digging through the stash to try to get some insperation. Stay tuned lol.
  11. Hi Fred, thanks buddy. I chose the color becuase I wanted to do something a little different than what I saw everyone else doing, with so many builds if this kit done with the white stripes, I just thought doing one with the black and with a non traditional color would help it stand out.
  12. Hi And thanks Wayne, Is your question about the track bars in general or is it about the color of them. I dont know about other GM cars, but I do know that on most Baldwin Motion version GM cars, track bars were added during the dealer conversion. So to build a accurate Baldwin Motion Car, it's my understanding that track bars should be part of the build. And most were yellow. Why? I'm not really sure. Some of the GM guru's would probably be able to explain it better than I could.
  13. Hi Mike, yup I plan to add that. I forgot during the build, and didn't realize it till you pointed it out lol. I have plans at some point of repainting the hood anyway due to a couple of hair line cracks in the paint that I stupidly caused.
  14. Hi Chris, thanks. Yes you should paint a section of the rear of the car. The back decals do not cover the entire area that needs to be the color the decal blends into.
  15. Really nice Ron, I really like the color choice. I had a 69 corvair when I got married to my first wife many many years ago
  16. Nice rescue Alan
  17. Last of the Pics. And finally Chassis detail pic, taken on the workbench.
  18. Hi Guys Here is my finished 1970 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro. When I started it, I wasn't gonna spend as much time detailing it as I did, especially after the time I had just spend on the 70 Cuda. But the further I went with it, the more it called out to me to add to it. Anyways if you didn't get a chance to follow along with the build and want to check it out. Here is a link to the build thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=94747 Here also is the finished pics. May take a couple of posts here to get them all up. More pics in following post.
  19. Hi Guys, my 70 1/2 Balwin Motion Camaro is finally finished. The last few things I needed to get done, was to get the front split bumbers mounted, the side few mirrors mounted. Took care of a small gap that was anoying me between the drivers side door and interior panel, Reajusted the the dood pins so now the hood sits about as flush and even as it is supposed too. And then made some hood pin clip retaining cables. And lastly, I took the front licence plate mount that came with the kit and modified it so it looks more like a front licence plate holder with no plate on it. I still haven't done anything with the few light scratches that are in the hood, but when I have time, my plan is to eventually strip the hood and repaint it. Here is the finaly pics. I will be taking some better ones later today and posting it under glass.
  20. Thanks Joe, yes hood pin cables were the last things tyo go on beside the side view mirrors.
  21. Just wondering if there is any modelers clubs in the Grand Traverse Bay area of the northwestern lower Peninsula of Michigan, or if there is any other modelers on here from around the area that might be willing to start one up together.
  22. I always test fit everything I work on. As I'm testing fitting and cleaning up parts, I plan out my detailing, since I do alot of heavy detailing, sometimes this requires modifying or even replacing alot of the kit parts. It's kinda like customizing a 1:1 car, mock up- test fit-modify- mock up some more, modify some more, and test fit some more. Once Im happy that there will be no fit issues and I have a fully planned out build, then and only then, do I do any painting. What I paint first depends on several things, first things is the type of paints I plan to use, if it's a slow drying paint that will take a while to cure, I would paint the body to let it set and cure while Im working on other area of the model. If it's a quick curing paint, then painting the body can be done anytime, and I paint as I build.
  23. Nice start Andy, I like your idea for this one. I look forward to following your build my friend.
  24. Here are a few more, and that's it for tonight.
  25. Last pics here guys. I thought I'd share where things are with the Camaro at the moment. I only have a few more odds and ends to do, things like the front bumpers, the hood pin cables, side and side view mirrors left to put on. But other that that, it's as close to done as it is gonna be lol. As I stated in my earlier post, I still may repaint the hood yet, but that can be done anytime. Next post hopefully tomorrow, or Wednesday morning will posted in the under glass section. I'm not sure I will get it done tomorrow though because I have to go with my wife for the start of her next round of cemo treatments. I'll post these in a couple of posts so I can get all the shots I took this evening posted. So if you look before I get them all up. Come right back in and check again for the rest of the pics.
