  1. More work on this great model.
  2. Hi all more work on the GT40. The Leds arrived and they really are micro.
  3. Hi all the distributor is made and installed Sprayed the floor pan Tried the engine in it. No idea where the coil is placed on this car so left an extra long ht coil lead.
  4. There is no distributor supplied in the GT40 kit, glass beads to the rescue I've added the carb to the engine (I really like this kit the fit of everything is really good)
  5. Hi all, in the reviews I've read of this kit it has said to ditch the kit supplied braided hoses as the fray and fall apart when cut, don't, just spray them with your missus hairspray (don't tell her though) It seems a great kit but there is no ford moulds or insignia anywhere on the kit, I assume that's a copyright issue to do with it originally being a trumpeter kit, just a small point but I thought I would mention it. If you wanted you could always get decals for that.
  6. Well its finished, hope Andy likes it.
  7. Hi all well this arrived today Admittedly I had to wait a while (I ordered it on 27 oct with my birthday money) Let me tell you it was well worth the wait and for 68 quid incredible value for money. I knew there were some errors on it from watching other builds of it. The quality of the kit has surprised me, it is incredible, For instance look at the quality of the chrome Unfortunately its wrong (not even sure if you can chrome an engine block) no matter 5 mind in bleach and that problem is cured And im not sure why they went to the trouble of pre painting the top of the engine gold as that's wrong too.
  8. So she's nearing completion.
  9. Started on the interior (could be a problem here as the restoration at work hasn't got this far) its quite interesting as to why these things take so long to complete (this restoration has taken 4 yes so far) reason being it was 1 of 4 cars built to this specification the other 3 no longer exists so the restoration keeps going on hold till the correct parts appear which can take months or even years to turn up.
  10. On the last leg now (more pipe work to add) but I have to attach the front to the car first and I can't do that till the gloss coat and I can't add that till all the decals were added so here we are
  11. Hi all I don't have the colour for this yet but I wanted to check i had the flaring right (which in primer you cant) so I sprayed the only quality colour I had on it just to check the finish (this was 2 pack paint so not full gloss) i just wanted an idea As you can see a few problems to sort This is what we're aiming for.
  12. More progress on the 956, added detail to the dashboard And work on the wheels Dont know why they used 2 different wheels sets (although it makes no difference when you put the 956 covers on as you can hardly see any of the wheel detail) And more decal work
  13. More progress. Made the air ducts and flexible hose for the brakes and decided (with great trepidation) to try the old kit decals. Seems they're fine (sighs with relief)
  14. Oops please mask properly ( how did i make this novice mistake) now I have to mask again.
  15. Started flaring the rear wheel arches. The front will be a challenge.
  16. Hi all I thought I had done my first colour coat then realised the rear fins should have been white on the outside. And made a start on scratch building the brake air ducting (these bits are tiny) I don't know how Dale managed it
  17. Thats amazing, not sure my skills are upto adding that sort of detail
  18. Now its not very often you hear of people adding details like a dipstick, now that is attention to detail.
  19. Beautifully done engine
  20. Hi all more progress, made some of the missing pipework. Something I may try to add (it does look like quite a big detail to leave out, wierd how they supply it in a kit you can't see it in
  21. Hi all made some air filters from some sprue.
  22. Hi all more progress on this (you can tell its an old Tamiya kit as there is loads of detail to be added, thats not supplied with the kit)
