  1. It's not just women... I used to work in a dept store warehouse and guys would buy big a$$ TVs then pull up to the doors in Honda...
  2. LMAO!! Is it bad that I recognize that this is a Taurus/Sable?? ..Done a lot of lines on these cars..
  3. Great tips...Thanks!
  4. That is the MPC War Eagle. It is 1/25th scale.
  5. I just received this MPC 1976 Firebird today...it's quite horrendous. Marker bomb? The body, grille and glass are correct and in decent condition but everything else appears to be from a MPC Blackbird kit.
  6. I am not sure of the relationship between Lindberg and Airfix... The two Firebird wagon kits appear to be identical as well. Is there a date on those Airfix kits?
  7. I have the Lindberg kit of this car (#6507 1984). Even though it doesn't say it's a snap-together...it is.
  8. 1961 has always been one of my favorite Pontiacs...that front end! Looking forward to this model as well..
  9. They didn't say anything about 100mpg. I ran with that because they are talking about "increased efficiency" and "lighter weight" which in a car translates to better MPG. Why would an oil company try to bury or impede it? ...because it would hurt thier profits! See Ovonic Batteries..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent_encumbrance_of_large_automotive_NiMH_batteries and I'm sure there are many other examples. Speaking of Tesla...what about the fighting they have had to do, to be able to sell directly to customers? http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-05-08/tesla-dealer-fight-continues-as-missouri-weighs-direct-sales-ban.html and why are they trying to impede Tesla? ...well a lot of lawmakers just happen to own car dealerships..not to mention all the "contributions" from lobbyists that MAY influence the laws they write. "It’s just dealers trying to protect their profits.” Thanks for trying to label me as a wacko.. Corporations do a lot of nefarious things you need to open your eyes to. Who said anything about black helicopters...are you seeing them? Aliens are cool though. Peace my friend
  10. I am a big fan of wanky shred guitar... Its not for everyone but speed and technique IS a form of expression. Guthrie Govan is not new but he seems to be getting more recognition lately..and deservedly so. Check him out...hes got it all...technique, tone and taste.. If you want a truly legendary guitar performance...Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins doing "Jerry's Breakdown" is it!!!
  11. Music is always subjective...like Deathgoblin...I like it a bit heavier.. "Jesus Built my Hotrod" by Ministry (not religious) is one of my favs and the video is awesome. You've gotta watch it if you've never seen it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXCh9OhDiCI Of the three songs to vote on...I like "Hot Rod Lincoln" the best even though "Little Duece Coupe" is probably the most popular & recognizable.
  12. An interesting design like many others...but what is the long term durability & reliability of it? Can it go 150K miles with the poor maintenance that the general public will subject it to? another thing....high compression ratios create high combustion temperatures that create NOx emissions...the main contributor to smog. Would the EPA nix it for emissions alone even if it got 100mpg? But regardless...if an engine got 100mpg I'm sure the oil corporations would buy the rights and bury it.
  13. Amazing build! I can't get over some of the details..especially the side windows! ...off to see the WIP now...
  14. Great job! Its nice to see one of these built. I have this kit stashed waiting to be built..you have inspired me. If i remember correctly there were 3 prototypes of this car made and I even saw one on a TV show..Rockford files I think..Silver like yours.

    64 GTO

Very nice...love the interior! why no engine pic?
  16. Hey everyone, It has been about 16 yrs since I built a model. In my teens, I was a member of a model of the month club and built a lot of planes and cars. My kids have gotten me back into this by buying me an AMT Ghostbusters Ecto-1a for Fathers day, which I have half-assed started. My ultimate build will be a 1976 Firebird Formula 400...my first car! I have already obtained a sealed MPC 1976 Firebird kit but before I even break the plastic I am going to build a few cars, get my skills back up and hopefully learn new ones from all of you. A little about me... I live and work as an auto mechanic here in Illinois USA...been into cars my whole life...grew up on the Dukes, Knight Rider, Smokey and the Bandit, A-team, CHIPS, Rockford Files..all those awesome shows. Pontiacs from the 50s, 60s and 70s are my favorite cars...also love 70s Vans and El Caminos. ...and I like to play guitar at ludicrous speed. I am looking forward to building again and thanks in advance for any help and advice! Brad These are unfortunately the only models I still have from the last time I was building in the mid 90s.
