  1. Finally threw some paint at this baby tonight. Now the wait for the curing so I can sand
  2. I will be using it for airbrushing. When you say "medium" are you referring to an acrylic thinner?
  3. Found this from their website: Our standard glossy varnish now available in 60 ml jars at a more competitive price, this waterborne acrylic varnish allows the modeller to easily apply a gloss fi nish to any kind of kit and surface. It can be applied directly from the bottle using both airbrush or brush – just shake it and use it! Our varnish is soluble in water, meaning that you won’t have odours as you would experience from the more aggressive, solvent-based varnishes. It can be thinned with AK712 acrylic thinner or water if necessary.
  4. Thanks. I purchased it from Mega Hobby website. Description says acrylic varnish but the bottle doesn't. So I'll test it out first and treat it as acrylic.
  5. I recently bought AK'S matte and gloss varnish. The bottle states you can use your own thinner but they recommend theirs? But they give no ratio. So my question is this: what are the ratios? And is it regular paint thinner like tamiya or is there a special thinner for varnishes? Any help would be much appreciated
  6. Thanks M
  7. A little more done to the frame. Haven't been able to do much lately. Body paint coming soon.
  8. This is great detail. Love your work.
  9. Thanks ridgeback and mrm.
  10. Update on the cockpit. Like I stated it's the first detailed dash I have done and I'm having a ball. I even painted headlight and washer markings on the steering column levers.
  11. Yeah, the reference picture I used had an Alpine in it. Thanks for noticing om617.
  12. Great job
  13. Here it is so far. I just finished my first detailed dashboard. I know it doesn't have the instrument decal yet, probably do that tonight
  14. Went down to the basement to do a little work and discovered a large ding (chunk) in the left fender. Only thing I can guess is my 4 yr old boy came down to check it out while I was at work. Going to have to strip and repaint now. Ugh
  15. Thanks guys. Yeah you can get away with any color on a Lamborghini
  16. Thanks guys. Great help. Do most hobby stores carry the sanding sticks?
  17. Is there anyway to get glue of a window. I was putting in the drivers side glass on a tamiya 959 and my hand slipped and got glue on the clear plastic. Any way to fix this or just order a new parts tree from Tamiya and if that's the only answer how do I go about doing that?
  18. As I live in Ohio I wouldn't mind getting pulled over by one of these. You made the highway patrol proud
  19. Very nice. Great paint job
  20. Very nice start. So do you paint body before chassis and interior?
  21. The paint on the body finally dried so I could take pics
  22. I forgot to mention that my daughter is 10 and my son is 4 so they thought it was pretty neat that I painted it the color they chose
