The Stalker 3D printed pro mod 66 Nova
NYLIBUD replied to NYLIBUD's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is basically the chassis, and interior. The only thing missing is a dashboard. It is from a diecast prostock car.Rear slicks axel, and wheelie bars.Nothing to detailed.Everything just kind of slides in tightly and fits. But Basically after ruining another decent model,I've just decided to make this a shelf model.A far away shelf model.Covered up hidden, shelf model.I bought the body cause I thought it was the coolest and only pro mod 66/67 Nova body.I bought through TDR,I think--Via Shapeways. Its a 3D print.Anyway, another one bites the dust.RIP pRo MoD nOvA???? -

92 Crown Victoria - 8-29-17 wheels, interior and antenna
NYLIBUD replied to Foxer's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I've always really liked Crown Vics. I have owned a few ex detective cars over the years.Got a couple at police auctions, and others by private sales..The oldest one being a 1990.In fact I have a pretty decent size collection of model police cars,in all different models and scales. But my favorite car in my collection is the black 86 Crown Vic LTD,from the movie MIB...The Ford POS..It is a 1/43 scale diecast,so I didn't build it,but I think it's pretty cool anyway. What can I say, police cars are cool. -
More and more sanding (Shapeways 66 Pro mod Nova)
NYLIBUD replied to NYLIBUD's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
That's weird.Yesterday I wrote that Metaldrumm was right about the cracking, and that I would try and make sure I do a better job next time.I usually don't build a model with so much sanding and filler needed..But the car was made by a 3D printer, and it was the first time I worked with anything made by a 3D printer...But it didn't write out my comment. Then I see JasonCamaro wrote something about John and how fast and detailed he builds are..????Huh.Im confused..First,who is John, and what happened to my reply to Metaldrumm.Oh well. -
Looks great...The 70 RR is by far,my favorite Mopar, and my favorite car.Look at that grill, and the body lines.Good luck with the car.I'll be following this one....Oh and great color..lol

You got it Steve.Definetly.....Haaaaaaaaa.The Dude's Torino..?..Love it

Looks really nice.My very first car was a hand me down 74,foor door, brown, with a brown interior,Grand Torino. And oh how I wished that car was a two door.By the time I sold it to a buddy of mine, who needed a train station car,it had just under a 170,000 miles. It was a good car,and dependable.

The shadow boxes look great.I built a drag racing shop from a shadow box.I made it with a frame, and a piece of clear plastic covering the front. Then I hung it on the wall in my den.Yours look great.

So I got the car body as smooth as I was able to do.I painted it flat black.I customized the glass all around so it would fit,m.I customized a roll cage, seating, and scratchbuilt a floor board and then added some decals..Still a WIP.I hope it came out pretty well.

I also bought a Shapeways 66 Nova pro mod,but in a 1/24th) scale through TDR.The car arrived in a very odd material and finish. It wasn't resin,or plastic. It was hard but somewhat flexible..And since it's made by a 3D printer. And I had no prior experience with a 3D printers. It certainly took a long time to sand and fill it smooth. It required a lot more sanding and filling, than I thought.Actually I even thought about giving up on the sanding. But I kept at it,and got it as close as I can...I'll post some pics of the sanding and filling I had to do....My car again is a 1/24th scale, while yours is a 1/8th scale.Which must have been an incredibly difficult thing to do.I cannot wait to see your car completely finish...

Actually,This picture was taken about a week or two ago in the same parking lot where the Pathmark was at one time.Dpa will never be the same as it was back in the 80s-90s.It was like every other parking lot was jammed with hot rods. Then like u mentioned, the imports/rice burners, and a whole younger crowd came around, and ruined it for everyone. It seemed like overnight,DPA,became a ghost town..Well now about a year ago, guys started to hang out in the old PathMark parking lot again. And now the old lot fills up on Sat night with hundreds of cars. They are an older crowd, with very few imports,or street racing. So far so good. Now,as far as the Bellmore train station,it too fills up as it has for years,on Friday nights. It did however close down briefly a few years ago, after a tragic accident between a child and a motorcycle. But,it's back, and its hopping. And of course Bald Hill is also around still, and fills up every Monday night. The only problem is,that there are way too many imports, and young punks, and not enough real hot rods...I don't bother going there any longer. It was great a few years ago, when the local FD ran it.But not anymore.Plus they charge $10 just to park. There are a lot of cruise spots across Long Island, almost every night of the week,to hang out with fellow car enthusiasts...I just hope it stays that way.Hot Rods, and good people, the way it should be.I guess everyone grew up a little, and having fun..Lol

Yup,There's that look.Plus John Belushi in Animal House, just because.Ha. "They took the bar........"

I was not really sure to post this car
NYLIBUD replied to NYLIBUD's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ah ha,that would explain it,I too, never saw the movie,so I never saw the car....Got to admit, that's some Wild stuff. -
Take a look at this automobile.I have no idea who made it,or what it's worth. Is there anyone who knows whose car this is,was, the year, the maker, and what the car is worth,if it's still around?I've never seen any type of car like this.you either love it,or despise it.Either was,you have to praise the workmanship of this car.a

Yea,I remember that sad, shocked, and disappointed look on his face.Hell,he loved that car.Lol
