  1. Old Computers.......... LOADED. the old "Mouse" that has a roller ball not elliptical, the wire, has 4 coated wires various colors per manufacturer but are good for a lot of things. OLD Computer monitor cables too! LOADED! Telephone wire is also good for this if you want wire to be a "special" color under the hood, as they have what looks to be transparent coatings on them in a model car! Model car sprue can be used for all sorts of things! -I make distributor caps, shocks, axle pins, (IF thick enough diameter) actual rear ends with the factory pumpkin drilled to fit the sprue through it to make longer ones OR repair broken ones. Old clothing! Makes GREAT head-liners! Micheal's Gel Pens called "Gelly Roll" in white, GREAT for white lettering on tires! -$1.99 each! Old junk power packs that don't work for what they were built for, makes GREAT source of wire used on about any place on a model car needing detail wire, hose, or the like. OLD plastic signs like "for Sale" or "Garage Sale" signs are a GREAT source of styrene..... (I got a TON of it!) Super glue with a dash of baking soda is a great "filler", and can be sanded not 2 seconds after the super glue has had the baking soda applied to it! Yard sale "toys" specially for those guy that like to "raise" the stance of their cars or trucks, is a good way to find rather LARGE tires for such! Toys in general, really, I got a couple that are dang near 1/25th scale..... out of a junk shop 5 cars, cost my $1.50 for all of them! Dollar Tree stores "craft" area, has floral supplies in it, (locally) golden colored Aluminum floral "wrap" 6 feet for a buck, makes GREAT exhaust pipes! (Look at my Father & Son build, that completed truck frame has this as the exhaust pipes easy to bend, and its a buck!) Straight pins bent to fit in radiator core supports for hood supports!
  2. RS isn't "gone" they only close selected stores...... My local one is still open and I had questioned them if the whole sha-bang was going out of business, and no, they told me only selected stores. I buy 30 gauge red and blue wire for plug wires there, 50 feet, for $3 and change. I WISHED I could find BLACK in a roll that big or more!
  3. -I'll be tryin that one too! What paint type did you use to "paint" the babywipe floor carpet? GREAT idea!
  4. -I agree with everyone's post, you could NOT have picked a better one to start with the AMT version of the same car, (I got one) leaves A LOT to be desired of in the kit, BUT it after-all was a gift from my uncle, BUT you with the Streetburner version from Revell/Monogram, is a WAY better kit.... It fits together much better then the old worn out AMT of the same car! Whats ya plans for the engine and car colors? STOCK RULES!
  5. They will be following VERY shortly...... I had to get some info from my uncle to continue on the engine and while I was doing that, I took a beat up straight bed late '70's Dodge Adventurer truck, and got some parts from that, to go onto the frame I have as these 2 frames are identical.... For the long bed. BUT, one of them is cast resin! WELL, a bit of a build story to follow this: I ALSO have planned a Railroad "High-Rail" Signal maintainers truck, ALSO a late '70's Dodge! I'd guess it be a '78, as I don't recall seeing that truck with a '77 or early grille, BUT it ALSO did not have the '79 grille either..... So, that leaves it to be a '78, and with the railroad truck itself and how it was painted, 1978 makes sense! -With that said, OK? This "Fathers truck" I'm building now....... Has a standard straight "long" bed, which will fit either of the 2 frames I got, with out ANY modification to the frame. The Railroad truck, however, has a 10 foot Utility bed on it...... Thats a "duallie" "High-Rail" truck (the truck will/would have been able to ride the rails in other words.) SO, this means that the railroad truck, will need SERIOUS "frame modifications" to take that length and type of bed.... The easiest way to achieve this iswith a STYRENE truck frame! To make gluing easier, and bond stronger..... THAT being said, the "resin" frame I have is the one going under the "father" truck in this current build as it needs no real frame mods, to fit that truck other then the suspension! Make sense? OK, that being said, I had to take the "spare" suspension I have, to the long bed truck frame, and make it useable, which is what I'm doing right now! Not in bad, bad shape, but needs some TLC to make it almost as a "new" frame and parts..... All in the while, keeping it "stock" for my Dad's personal "truck" in the set of 2..... Pictures hopefully later today!
  6. LMAO ----^
  7. Thanks guys! Been thinkin about this one since I made this posting...... I have been procrastinating how I'm gonna go about the rear shocks (I want them to WORK!) coil-overs, BUT sort of angled to keep it looking................."interesting" I guess is the best word for what I want to achieve here...... Thanks tho! I'll be back to this one in a bit.... I got A LOT on the go..... But, isn't that "all" of us!?
  8. Thanks Carl! I appreciate it. This one has been some fun when I was at it, as its "sat aside" for now as I'm building my Father & Son Dodge trucks..... Headed off to go get the engine mounts set up to Dads now! And pull the frame to begin setting it up for stock 4x4 height..... -This ought to be fun!
  9. -I have to say on "past" Foose designs the only one I didn't truly like is the danged wheels he used on the past 2 Mopars he done....... The Magnum 500's "enlarged" are OK, BUT the other ones WTH was he thinkin'?????? The ones I'm referring too are on I BELIVE the '67 Charger, I have 2 of those kits and I have one of the '67 Coronet.... I WILL have 2 of those as well! BUT, I'd love to see the Hemisfear done as a 1/25th kit.. I can see A LOT of potential for Mopar builders such as myself..... Got to remember, sure Revell done there homework, BUT that too..... The cars have all sorts of various things changed on the real cars, WILL they become sold with a lot of "extra" parts? This is a sales ploy, by Revell to use as builders, (I look for models when I buy, with extra choices of details), Air cleaners, decals, valve covers, chrome parts, intake, carburetor, even extra complete motors! Thats all a sales ploy really, and a good one! THEN keep in mind, how many models over the years that Revell made and may now own from the Monogram line that were "one-offs? HOW MANY millions of that one style "one-off" model are out there???? SEE? I think the "Foose" line from Revell is merely a single sales ploy and its working..... A LOT of one off parts you won't find in a stock kit thats sold these days.... Sadly will cost anyone of us $30 to get, but...... We're the consumer, so, if ya want it, you'll dole out the cash to get it.....
  10. Anthony is correct, the 4.7L was used and did replace the 5.2L "318" WHY they replaced a bigger motor with a smaller one I don't know but......Its not a bad engine to say the very least!
  11. Double post Please delete!
  12. The Micro-Mask stuff works GREAT on flat or smooth surfaces, BUT may require a second coat in areas of A LOT of molded on detail to cover, but yes, normally one coat is what I have found on flat areas, 2 on irregular areas..... $3.99 a 2 ounce bottle local to me!
  13. Thanks Ira! I'm off to a pretty good start, sadly, its sat aside while I'm workin' on my Father & Son build..... Bob, Thanks! Its been a fun one...... I do however think I'm gonna change a few small details on the engine but thats OK..... I got time to think about it for now. I appreciate the compliments guys! Thanks!
  14. Thanks guys! The '39, is as my Dad had built it, the wheels I didn't get a good picture of but they are directional Aluminum wheels, and look realy good (I didn't get a good picture of it with them showing very well.... BUT because its as Dad built it, thats how it will remain, except for the things he had and did get to see it on the car, so the engine looks will change, theres a whole box of goodies to be added to it.... I haven't been able as the car is at my Dads in the garage he built to store the car, and 900 miles away! BUT this summer, hopefully I get to get to it and do a bit more to it..... The Power Wagon, thats a matching number G.I. truck, The only non "military" part is the tires and rims, and the orange paint, truck, body parts, drive train are all '67 stock from Dodge, as our G.I ordered it from them to be! -I have the stock tires and rims tho, as they're Bead-Lock, military steel wheels. I keep them for sake of keeping it "stock" Thanks guys! The '39 is now a heirloom, and the '67 well thats my toy!
  15. -I can't make out what that thing is...... I ain't gonna say the first thing I thought of but DANG....
  16. Well I have not gotten around to adding mine in here so...... We'll do that! The little girl is my Daughter, going to play in the mud! My Wifes car: THEN what I inherited from my Dad: I can't help it guys, this just not "mine"...... but it is....
  17. I didn't mention it, but my Dad passed away last March '14, I inherited the car he was building, almost complete.... He never got to drive it.... I gotto drive it to the funeral, so.. but here it is: You can't see the welting in this picture but its right one the other side of the hood edge roll in the front fender. Just behind the thickness of the grille. Not the greatest picture for this, but the rear you can just see the bead of that lip I mentioned..... goes in the crease between the fender and the body..... All I can say is those dang fenders AREN'T light...... I held 2 as Dad bolted them on in '12, as he held 2 as I bolted them...... I forget at times I have this car, as its being stored in Pennsylvania right now (the garage built is better then what I have) but its mine.....
  18. -I'm Votin' fer "Hemisfear"....... But you guys couldn't have guessed that from me!
  19. I have resin blocks of ANY of the small block V-8's if interested PM me!
  20. NICE job on the Dodge L-700...... I plan to make one of these as a Race Team tractor to haul a trailer with a race team on it... and a partial garage! BUT That ALSO means I'll be stretching the frame, adding a Tandem rear axle set BOTH powered. I also plan to add air suspension to all axles of the tractor, and a few other added "fun" details..... I'm planning right now however, Nothing isset in stone besides, I'm gonna have a bit tied up scratchbuilding/bashing a trailer to haul it all!
  21. -I recently bought a Revell 359 Peterbilt, and got a couple Dodge L-700 kits as "parts" given to me accompanying it was a Dodge A100, as "parts", by a member here Thanks Gordon!
  22. -Home Depot has a "spot" with a pad of blank white paper, and a shield around it for a "test" shot" of paint....MAYBE Wal-Mart ought to take a lesson, NO "graffiti" in ANY of the local Home Depots to me! BUT we are talkin' about Wally World and kids and the lack of respect for the employee's OR other shoppers....
